As I went to inject in my shoulder, I aspirated as always....and there it was....blood. First time ever! I know this has been mentioned a hundred times but made me think that I could have been over confident because it never happens to me.

You would be shocked to find out just how many people actually just move along to another spot without changing pins...

No shit eh! I was always under the impression that's what u did, just change spots. This is probably gonna sound pretty dumb but do you have to pull yourself a whole new "ml", having the one that was just filled with blood no longer injectable?

Highly important to change the tip!!! Many people do not realize this, and do not listen.

If you aspirate and have blood you are ok.
Just withdraw the needle, change the tip, and use a different location that what you just tried. You are fine.

Please can someone enlighten me?

Correct technique used, cleaned skin, used alcohol swab and insert needle...

Now if I withdraw, why would I need to change the pin? Please tell me where the infection could stem from?

Thanks
