You know those girls that walk by like they think they're "all that and a bag of chips" sort of thing...?

well that seems to be ME these days at the gym! i have an evil look, im so frickin focused, im talking to the weights, i grunt and groan, and i lift heavier than ALL girls and some weak ass boys.

Yes I hatttte them with their tight ass clothes boobs flying everywhere and ALWAYS checkin thier stuff in the mirror whats with that. I just take my baseball cap and push it down before I push them down LOL

The ones that do that at our gym are the skinny chicks, and they prance and pose around in tight little outfits. In the old days, I used to envy them. But now with my trained eye (hehe), I can see "skinny-fat". They're skinny all right, but they all have little fat bulges squishing out of their sports bras and waistbands. :sick:
 
I'm a mirror hog.... 100%, i love watching myself, i'm fascinated by my muscles...

I know that i'm the girl in the gym that the rest of the girls envy... i'm not bragging about it... makes me a little uncomfortable, but i've put the work it... they can sit there all they want doing shoulder press with the pink dumbells and give me the dirtiest/strangest/biggest look of disgust they can muster-up when i'm pressing the 45s, but g'dammit, at least they know that i've worked hard for my body...

most of them will claim that they don't want to be "big" like me :confused: (i'm far from big), but yet i think most of them are just afraid to actually do any work... they go to the gym just to say they did/do... i get my moneys worth... and at the end of the day... i'm the one with the abs/shoulders/arms that get noticed :D hehe...

i wish there were more girls who lifted more seriously around my gym... seeing gals with better xyz than me motivates me... there used to be a trainer who was rock solid... she's still hard but she's lost some size... her skins a little clearer now too... i'm assuming she's now off her cycle... hehe...

Well.... It seems to me if a person has to constantly check themself in the mirror every 2 minutes there may be a bit of insecurity there.
I mean well... nothing has changed in the two minutes you checked yourself on the treadmill before. :)

personally i couldn't care less about the treadmill... cardio is one of those evil things that i hardly do anymore

and things do change in two minutes... i can get a great pump in my arms with one set of curls... i love watching the striations in my shoulders when doing lateral raises...

my chest separation always amazes me too...

and then there's my six pack... hehe, damn proud of that too :)

i'm in awe of the changes my body has made... no insecurities there... i don't do it to make sure my hair or makeup is perfect, that everything is tucked in or whatever, i do it to see the hard work i've put in... and i'm proud... it motivates me... and that's all there is to it
 
amen sister phem ;) love watching them muscles move.......the body is most definetly a work of art, one to be appreciated, and worshipped continually in the mirror :)
 
You said it ladies, just making a point I think certain types of worship like behavior could be misconstrude as obsessive, like checking ones self in the mirror incessantly.
I mean no offence by my comments I have the upmost respect for everbody on here.

I don't mean to take any credit away from you, you did work hard and look great, but you forgot to mention that you are on a cycle. You have a little help in order for you to press 45's. For most girls it would take a lot of time in the gym to be able to get up to that weight. I have been training for 2 years and I lift and train as hard as I can push myself, with the help of my boyfriend, and I am only pressing 35's. So, give us natural girls a little slack.

i was pressing 40's pre cycle... 45's with a spot... now i do 45's for reps... (but my shoulder has been acting up on and off through my cycle so i don't risk trying to go higher although i probably could)

and i have the utmost respect for any girl who pushes themselves but come on, most of these girls' purses weigh more than the weights they use in the gym!!!!

I look as well to when Im lifting.
I was basically saying I have seen chicks fix makup..... and look around to see who is looking at them.
I just hope they realize how shallow and obvious this behavior really is.

OK i agree with that. I have seen some girls press 10's while looking at the guy to her right to see if he is looking at her. I took your comment to mean that girls that weren't pressing the amount of weight you were, were weak. That is not really what you said, but I took offense. Maybe I'm a tad emotional today! Sorry.

I haven't quite come to the point where I am 'comfortable' with my new physique...

There are NO females as muscular as me that go to my gym around the same time....so I usually feel like I am on display. I wear running shorts and a 'bra top' so I'm not exactly naked, but the guys stare and make comments to each other and I HATE IT.

Doesn't help that I am anti-social and I would be happy to never have anyone talk to me EVER.

PLUS, I am now better built than the female trainer that works the evening shift when I am there and she is NOT friendly to me at all...I'm so uncomfortable around her.

I have a feeling that she knows what’s up - as far as supplements go - and she probably feels like I'm a 'cheater' and is a little (a lot) jealous of my amazing progress.

I tend to keep a low profile. I feel vain flexing and stuff...(I have some serious body image issues anyway)

BUT F 'EM ALL - CAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT?? I LOOK GOOOOOOOD!!!:D
 
Oh, i'm just saying that many (most in my gym, its in a mall and 65-70% of the girls who work out there are what i call "mall-girls") aren't really challanging themselves... most of them have purses that weigh more than some of the weights they lift (they curl the 5lb weights and lift their purse filled with 15lbs of hairspray, mouse, makeup, etc etc etc...

there are girls in my gym that are envious of me (not to sound conceited, but i guess thats about the only way that can sound) and they see what i've done to get there and yet they just keep giving me dirty looks and whatnot while lifting their pink weights... i guess that cannot come out sounding good in any way, but its how i feel...

i don't get it... if i see someone who has a body that i envy, i don't give them dirty looks, i go up and ask them questions, or i get in there and work harder... but to each their own i guess i try to ignore it, but sometimes it gets to me... especially when they make off the cuff comments to me like "oh if all i did all day was work out i'd look like you too" or "well i just don't have the genetics to look like that" - i work full time (at a desk job... long hours), and i have what i consider to be pretty cruddy genetics... there are no excuses for not putting in the work... either you do or you don't and that's the difference...

Late to this thread but...

I always get in some good mirror time at the gym myself. I used to be seflconscious about it, but then I figured, what the hell, that's what they're there for. Besides, I'm not doing this shit for my health, after all. I run for my health, but weights are just for me and my sexy self, lol.

Here's a funny story. We have this one woman at our gym who has the worst gym etiquette you can imagine. I've written threads about her previously. She thinks she is such hot stuff, and she loves to try to intimidate people by saying she was using whatever equipment they were on (when she wasn't), standing close so they'll leave it, being loud and obnoxious, etc.

She tried this on me once about 2 years ago (before I started training hard). I stood my ground, but I still felt guilty and mad about it. BUT... I think it was at THAT MOMENT THE FIRE was LIT in me and I decided to train FOR REAL!!!

Now, she's actually intimated by me! :D (And I've never been rude to her.) I can tell she checks me out whenever she sees me, but then she'll go work out in a different part of the gym from wherever I am! She still has her little bit of muscle, but just too much bf, and getting fatter it seems.

If she only knew how much of my progress has been due to her...
 
In behalf of Cutie defense, I have trained with her and she is one of the most determined people I know to achieve her goals naturally wih out the use of artifical means. If Phemomen has these "straitions" in your shoulder one must be using clen,t-3 or chem to achieve them especially with lack of doing cardio, but to each their own. "Juice heads" can easily be spotted in the gym. they are the ones usual looking at them selves in the mirror flexing in the mirror or have on cloths 2 sizes to small !! LOL Yes it is true i see chicks coming to the gym with their make up and there little tiny clublike out fits. I find it hilarious because those people are candy asses, a bunch of want a bes who only get in my way when i'm training. Some times I wonder when people are staring in the mirror, they are at some fun house where in the reffelction they think they see a muscular person staring back at them. Now on the other hand when those narcisitic people get in front of me when doing my set I will tell them to get the hell out of the way. Yes my size does when I tell a person to get out of the way, but when cutie is working out just becuase she is a female, a male will step right in front of her.....and that really pisses me off and i tell the bastard to move !! and they know I mean NOW. AS for prancing are and staring at your self in the mirror, thats all good only if you are getting ready for a show, but it your trying to get attention that the wrong way to do it!! Many of the women tend to work out their mouths more then the designated body part !!

how did i become the target to this flame i DO NOT know... but here it goes... phem's response... i'm tired so i'm not going to sweat this too much...

1) Iit is common knowledge that i am on an anavar cycle... no doubt there... never touched clen/t3/dnp or otherwise... i have a crazy metabolism... there are many many pics of my shoulders floating around (since you sound doubtful...)

2) I really hate doing cardio i do it resentfully when i do.. and i eat like a pig... i've been blessed with a wonderfully fast metabolism... i'll be getting back to the cardio when i start worrying about cutting up, not a concern right now...

3)if i am a 'juice head" then so be it... i work out in super baggy pants and a sports bra... i like watching my muscles... i don't flex or pose, but i do watch my form extensively and use the mirrors as a tool... but i like looking at my shape... nah... i love it :D

4) i generally find the least busy/unpopulated areas of the gym to work in... i don't like being around people, i tend to choose times of the day that are the least populated and i generally mind my business.. i don't really talk to anyone... i guess people think i'm snobbish or whatever, i'm not, i'm just shy... that's all...

5) i know that i attract attention in the gym... other than my regular workout, i don't do ANYTHING to draw attention to myself... if people choose to stare at me, that's their problem, not mine... if they have a problem with me they can just choose not to look at me...

6) the name is phemomena if ya can't spell it all, call me phem for short :D

k, i'm done, tired must sleep...

well... i've been slacking in the area for about a month and a half... almost two months... and the cuts are still there...

and i did i had them before i started my cycle, they've come out a lot more during...

Nope, no cardio in quite a while, and I'd say you're pretty cut. Shoulders, arms, quads, all show good definition to my eye.

And we can't forget the super-abs...the cut that can't be hidden.

they aren't as strirated as the previous pic, but trust me, the they're there....
 
I feel that a lot of you gals have got to get a grip on your egos. I wear the absolute baggiest of baggy sweats, top and bottom. I push the heaviest weights of any female (and many many males) in my gym. I have been asked more than half a dozen times in the past 6 months "where do you work out?" in public places by folks that have never met me and have no idea other than my physique through baggy clothes that I 'might' workout! I'm not bragging. Through it all I can assure you that the main thing that both males and females, trainers and beginners in your gym will ASSUME about you is that you are "on". For those of us that have never been "on" this is both the ultimate compliment and the ultimate insult when you finally realize how low the public's expectation of "natural" female bodybuilding is. Pat yourselves on the back for how hard you've worked to get where you are. DON'T pat yourselves on the back thinking everyone is envious of you. I know the gossip that goes behind a muscular female physique......steroids.....lesbian/man hater......sleeping with the right connections.....something not right with that one.....ambitious......dysmorphic syndrome "heck, she's just like an anorexic but opposite"....genetics......born into money to buy her boobs/calves/shoulders/, just wait until she's middle aged and goes to pot etc........

And so it goes. I can assure your that a few people envy you, the rest *hate* you in a bizarre sorta self justifying way.

if this is directed at me, I'm far from the "bodybuilding" physique... and although i don't care one iota what those in my gym think about me, i doubt that many (outside of those who have either dabbled themselves or know a great deal about it) talk about me as far as AS use goes...

i'm not saying i'm proud of people being envious of or hating on me... i'm saying that it is fact that get the looks from the girls (and some of the guys) and i couldn't care less what they think and what they do... i'm saying i'm proud of the work that i've put in, i'm proud of the hours and sweat that i've dedicated to getting where i am... and if i like to watch myself in the mirror while i'm doing it, well then so be it.. i've always been like this... even when i was fat and disgusting looking (and OBVIOUSLY not touching AS) i've always gravitated toward mirrors... i love seeing my body work and progress... i don't go in the gym to get attention i go there to bust my ass... if i attract it then i really fail to see how this has become my problem, on or off...

(btw the looks i've gotten are nothing new and nothing i associate with being on, they begun long before my cycle... )

for the record, i'd like to say that i am far from big-breasted... it seems that so many people's comments on this thread are going back to sportin a big set of titties and pushing them up in everyone's face and such... i'm as flat as they come... so wearing a sports bra is not a "look at me tactic" on my behalf... (i think from the pics this one's obvious!! :) )

Whatever.......it all boils down to self confidence, either you got it or you dont......the best part is you can achieve it. Whether it be from lifting weights, or getting a new haircut......

Spatterson mentioned earlier, that watching yourself in the mirror is about watching and keeping your form.....that is why we all use them, and why they are there, in abundance. Just a little joking on the other page.......sheesh......lighten up already.

I have skipped the cardio for the last few weeks also, and my abbs , shoulders and chest look damn well cut.........I guess cause I am a juice head also :rolleyes:

Who is Hardasnails???? Male or female???? Just curious as to where they are coming from, and what their goals are, and diet...... :)

I'm really surprised and disappointed for 2 reasons:

1) I've been here for less than a week and I have already had the unfortunate experience of watching you all in an all-out cat-fight.

2) Does a friction really exist between those who "do" and those who "don't" take supplements?? Because I don't think I can stomach a 'holier than thou' attitude on-line since I already deal with it at the gym.

Holy shit guys, no f-ing wonder I don't have any girlfriends.

gear will only get you so far, i think we all know if you aren't putting in the work you won't see jack in the form of results... and if you are putting in the work, on or off, then be proud... and screw what everyone else says/thinks/does...

theres nothing wrong with looking in the mirror to see how you are improving...and theres nothing wrong with staring at other people (if its because you are trying to learn something or just like the look of muscles). I'm obsessed with muscles! the only reason i watch wrestling is to see different muscle types. i love to watch myself in the mirror when i'm training and will go out of my way to catch a glimpse of myself. i'll also go out of my way to catch a glimpse of myself in a reflection of a picture frame or the bathroom mirror at work. i'm proud of how i look (and always trying to improve). i worked hard to get to the way i look.

Hardasnails is a Pro Bodybuilder that I work out with from time to time.
He is very smart regarding all aspects of bodybuilding and is a wonderful person.
"Juice Head" was just a term he used Im sure he did not mean any disrespect to the ladies who use......

Phem????? I was NOT aiming my comments at you or anyone in particular. If you flaunt your stuff and gets stares and comments then I assume that's your choice and you're happy with it. If you use gear I also assume that's your choice and you're happy with it. I was just pointing out that whether you flaunt it or not and whether you use gear or not, being an above normal muscular female will attract attention and gossip. Mostly bad gossip, some good. For sure the stuff that's said to your face will almost always be good.

Stay around voodoo. We're all best mates really. But you gals can have my portion of mirror space in our new virtual gym.

I should point out that I am obliged to surf the web with my images turned off. I know a lot of you gals have posted photos, avatars etc.... but I have never actually seen these images from most of you, so I definitely am not picking on anyone because they're huge, or puny, or use gear or whatever. Was just making a general comment about BB chicks and the view of them from the 'outside' world.

OK recently I have had serious issues with what MS was saying about how the outside world views bb chicks. On the weekend I went to a wedding were I wore this dress with little straps that didn't hide my upper body at all. All night I got comments and it didn't make me feel good at all. I just wanted to blend in and have fun. I don't bodybuild for the look of it, it's a passion and the way it looks is not what I call pretty. I just love training and muscle, but that doesn't mean I necessarily feel I look good for all purposes.

The outside world has to comment on what they feel is extraordinary, but the comments shit me. I don't do it for anyone else and don't care in the least to hear what they think. Some comments I get are negative which shits me all the more because I don't want their approval anyway - like one uncle said 'excuse me bloke, - Oh no sorry that's you'. What's his point??

What shits me more is that at times I think people are trying to encourage me to re-evaluate my goals, which won't happen. Like Andrulla Blanchette when she first started out she said that she put on muscle quickly and so stopped lifting, but then when she changed gyms and bodybuilding was encouraged she kept on and on deliberately trying to get bigger. All because she was made to feel good about having muscle.

General society tries not to encourage muscularity amongst women. I for one love it.

ok ladies want to know what I eat here it is
right now i'm 220 about 6% bf at 5'9 planning on npc Jr nationals next year at 210lbs, but when dieting i really never go by the scale by rather my best friend the mirror and make changes to diet as they are needed.

I got won my class in the NPC PA states as a light -heavy weight and should have won over all,

this is a typical offseason day !!
may be 2 meals a week I will cheat mostly on saturday because I train on sunday

6am
1/2 hour cardio

7-715am
18 egg whites
1 cup oatmeal dry

930 am
6 oz chicken cooked
1 cup brown rice cooked
broccoili

1230 pm
3 oz ground beef
3 oz ground turkey
5 oz yam
greens

3 pm
1 can tuna albacore
3 egg whites
1 tbspoon udos
broccoli

530 pm preworkout meal (1/2 hour before the gym)
25 grams isopure protein
17 g of dextrose 17 grams of maltodextrin
5 grams creatine and glutamine

approximately 8:00pm
post work out with in 15 minutes
50 grams isopure
75 grams dextrose
5 grams creatine 5 grams glutamine

930 pm
15 egg whites
1/2 cup oatmeal

1130-1200 am

2 cups cottage chesse

3 -5 am depending if i get up or not
may be a an isopure shake 40 -50 grams

I thought I might add to this....I DO wear make up to the gym - very light - Its not a necessity, but I feel better when I have it on....I also LIKE to wear cute workout clothes...Its one of my favorite things to shop for....Im not trying to stop traffic by anymeans - its just me!!! I do watch myself as I work out - only to stay focused - believe me, I dont get turned on and I dont think I am all that!

The past posts I read saying you either had to do this/that is BS...do whatever works for you as an individual...baggy crazy wear pants are NOT where its at for me...that just me though...so girls quit worrying over the silly things! you can train HEAVY and HARD if your wearing baggies or if your big DD's are flopping around in everyones face!! IMHO:D

Actualy I'm not that bad of a guy. Ask cutie, i stop what am doing to go over and give assistance or advice to any one that needs it. Like I tell people there is not a wrong way to do something, there is improper ways. As a trainer one has to keep an opened mind. I only suggest to the person to try and see how it feels, if it feels better then fine and if it doesn't atleast I tried, but majority of the time is better. One also has to take in consideration as well the health status of a person. People bust on people that they have chicken legs or one arm smaller than the other one. But did you ever consider that they may have been into an accident or something to inhbit them from trainning that specific range of motion. So before opening up your mouth and commenting on a persons phyisque, find out the whole story first. Cutie was the one who taught me this. And for all those people who call them selves "bodybuilders". Your not a true body builder till you have been on stage Then you can call your self a true "bodybuilder" untill then you are a bodysculpture. And any won who has the courage to stand up on stage ...More power to ya especially when they are phyically challenged or in a wheel chair that gives hope to any body that goals can be accomplished !! prime example Greg Rando !!

bodybuilding and this board is about commrodery and helping each other achive their goals and trying to educate people in not making the same mistakes we have all made in the past...so support each other in his or her goals and we will all be succesful in the end

Im glad I finally got to check this thread out!!! I am really annoyed when people type in all caps...looks like you are screaming for attention...makes me think you dont get much out of cyberspace! I have found those that do not brag about themselves and their credentials are the ones I seek advice from and admire. if you are good and successful you do not have to annouce it to others, they see it w/ out all the hype. Im glad you are confident...everyone should be...but you are WAY beyond that, and just a bit of advice...people are not attracted to that nor will they ever look up to you. IF anything turns people off. Really you dont have to make such an effort to be noticed...

Hard is a great trainer and can work wonders with diet.

I posted my diet because I like to gain different perspectives as I have been on here for a while and you ladies seem to know your stuff from a woman's perspective.
He is not Pushing or selling anything.... he was defending an earlier post on my behalf.

MS, Hard is an awesome guy and you apparently did miss something crucial in the earlier posts no offence....... MS.

Spatterson, with regard to him typing in caps he types to everybody in caps he doesn't mean anything by it... I will be sure to give him an e-mail etiquette lesson.

I am not writing this to be a smart- - - I just hope you do not
prejudge him because he could teach everybody a thing or two.

I'm with you, l2w. The nice thing is, we all paid the same membership and have equal right to be at the gym, even if it bugs somebody else.

THe boy knows his shit and goes out of his way to answer even dumb questions. He's solid both physicallly and as good friend, so cut him some slack

That may well be so...but no one wants to spend the time listening to someone who is half occupied with patting himself on the back. Although WIDELAT seems to surpass hardasnails in this dept. Ever read any of his posts? :rolleyes: Now THERE'S a man who's stuck on himself.

Luvs...i'm with ya babe...i like to look good where ever i am....gym included....for ME...not anyone else....since i spend so much time there i might as well have cute gym clothes...cause i'm usually with the hubby....working out together can be good foreplay! lol!

and if they charged me and my man for mirror use....we couldn't afford a membership! lol! i wanna see my muscles working and my form....

i'm in a zone when i'm in there working out...so not doing anything for anyone else's amusement, attention, ect..
 
W6 could run circles around your ol trainer Hardasnails....and yet do you ever see him act like an ass and list his credentials...bragging on his vast knowledge??? Those are people I RESPECT and LISTEN to, and would train with. The all caps thing was not a huge deal but his whole attitude in the post was pathetic!! Seems like he is trying to assure us just how good he is, and maybe even convince himself...maturity will come....hopefully!
