I'm Back!!!!!!!! CPU is working!

Hey fellas! Good to be back. I had to replace my CPU and it took 4 weeks. I was posting about once a week, but now I'm back are ready to help out again.

Feel free to email me if anyone has any questions. For all you newbies who dont know me, I've been around here for quite a while. I got a virus and it killed my cpu.

I love to help in any way. I'm very knowledgable in many areas, not like Huck, Stew, or Irongame, but experienced, so feel free to ask. I will either answer to the best of my abilities or point you to the one most knowledgable.

The SirCam virus deletes all your EXE programs So ALL of my programs wouldnt start. So if I cant run any programs, my CPU is dead!

So that particular virus, which really a worm, completely destroyed my CPU.

For $400 I went from 233mhz with 168mg of Ram, to 733mhz with 256mg of Ram. With my cable modem, the internet is lightning fast!

Uhm... I don't think it works that way... my guess is your CPU died cuz of its age (5 yrs, right?), not the virus, the virus prolly just fucked with your bios but those things actually don't have a physical effect on hardware... (sorry, couldn't resist, I'm trying to overcompensate for my insecurity of steroid knowledge by emphasizing the one topic I KNOW about... I'm a horrible person )

Anyway, welcome back, nb, there's a thread about MJay95 testing IP products if you haven't noticed it, prolly wanna see if his anavar results match up with yours, I know we ALL want to find out!!!!!

Dude, I hope thats not what the guy at the computer store told you when you brought it in just so he could sell you some new parts!!!

I am a Network Administrator, and I had quite a time getting rid of that SirCam virus when it first came out.... It doesnt delete all your EXE programs.

This worm is a high-level program created in Delphi that propagates via email using SMTP commands. It sends copies of itself to all addresses listed in an infected user's address book and in temporary Internet cached files. It arrives with a random subject line, and an attachment by the same name. This worm also propagates via shared network drives. It does not destroy anything on your PC... All you had to do was download a fix tool from an antivirus site, and run it... it scans your hard drive and deletes everything related to the virus.

What I am basically saying... is that in the future if this was to happen, you dont need to buy new parts because a virus makes your system boot slow, or whatever it did.... but shit man, you were do for an upgrade anyways! Dont let those asshole PC technicians try and fuck you over, they are just like auto mechanics....
