After spending years at the gym, devoting effort and $$$ to my body why should I not seek partners who have also put in such an effort? They get to enjoy the benefits of my work, so should I not enjoy the same?

I get sick of the "personality is all that counts" comment. This is as ridiculous as saying that "appearance is all that counts". If personality is all that counts then why don't straights date people of the same sex, and gays those of the opposite sex? - Because the body does count!

If personality is all that counts and you reject someone, then you've rejected them as a person. Why is this so wonderful?

appearance vs. personality.........

lifeitsownself has taught me this:

pretty people do attract me on a temporary basis. but, when their personality sucks, i loose interest in them rapidly.

someone with a good personality will take longer to draw me in, true, but when i AM attracted to them the attraction is a lasting one.

i have learned to treat attractive, pretty people with a certain degree of wariness and caution. what first attracts me to them will usually, eventually repel me.

the military has a term for this pretty people attraction, i believe it is called "grease". pretty people often reply on their attractiveness, their grease, too much and wind up slipping because of doing too much greasing.

I think looks are a factor sure. But am I the only one that finds a stupid women totally un-attractive?

I dont want to hookup with someone that I am going to have to take care of, make all the decisions, etc. what a headache. I want an intellectual match as much as I want someone I am attracted to.
