If you sent a thank you letter after an interview...

Would it seem to pushy by sending a short email asking if a decision had been made? I sent a thank you letter last week after an interview and I'm thinking of sending an email to see what's up. Any opinions?

I don't know the whole story but if it's been a week since the thank you letter than I would touch base with them to assure them of your interest.

The reason I was thinking of sending an email is because during the interview he mentioned how much they use email and how he thought it was the greatest invention. Just thought I'd try something different. But I may decide to go with phone call.

A follow-up is very important.
The 7-day wait is good.

Definitely, do the phone call.
Personally, I'd call around 8:30, before their day starts to get hectic.

Well, I went with a phone call this morning. The secretary said he was out of town till next week so I asked if the position had been filled. DAMN, she said they filled it. Oh well, gotta stay positive and keep looking.

If they think that e-mail is the greatest invention since sliced bread than an e-mail is the way to go. Good luck on closing the deal.

sorry to hear that... don't give up though

I think the 7 days is fine, call them Monday in the afternoon to who ever interviewed you, the morning is when they are just getting their week started, so wait till afternoon.

Good luck!
