I think your gonna have to pay. Not absolutely sure but i do know if a Canadian gets a Canadian pregnant and one gets stuck with the kid and the other takes off half way across the world you will still have to pay as long as they can track you down.

The can. district can try to find out where you work, etc - but due to privacy laws, foreign govt -- it's real difficult, they won't even try.

I know first hand that the the Cdn governemnt works with the US gov on this and you have to pay. This was setup on both sides of the border to make it easier for Mom's to collect from Deadbeat Dads.

The US org will garnish your pay if they have to.

All the women has to do is go to the Cdn and they do the rest. Neither side takes this lightly anymore.

Since you asked, here's some acronyms you may need to familiarize yourself with:

FRO = Family Responsiblity Office
ISO = Interjurisdictional Support Order

If you would put a woman in that position, hopefully she'd be smart enough to gain an Order for support to be enforced. You'd most likely rethink your position once your driver's licence was confiscated, your property liened, and your wages garnished, in addition to having no guarantees that enforcement of support ensures you rights to see your child, considering they are two completely separate issues in the Canadian Family Court system; but this should be no problem for you considering you wanted them to "beat it" anyway.
