if someone murders someone in cold blooded murder what should happen to them?

i think if someone kinda my brother or family member i would want to kill them but i wouldnt be able to. i still would want that person to die.
if this person is not going to die i feel they should live a living hell. i think they should live in darkness with a pinch of light and feed shit like bread and water for the rest of their lives. and can sleep on rocks as a bed.

ps do you think they should be forgiven if they truly are sorry. (which makes no sense)
