i am going to lose my mind.

i figured i could sit back, burn some dvd's (backups of stuff legally purchased, of course) for my girlfriend while i get some homework done before class.

wrong.

i dont know what gives today...or if it is this one particular movie or what...but it's being a pain in the ass.

I had real bad luck with that until i started doing it in Linux; I almost chucked an entire 50-stack of discs.

When I am making copies of movies, I don't copy all the extras like the making of the movie, commentaries, etc... Have not wasted one DVD yet

I've never had a bad burn with a DVD. Ever.

What media, software, and DVD burner are you using?

verbatim dvd-r

for the software, i use AnyDVD to remove the copyright protection and clone DVD to rip/burn the disc.

i know where you are coming from
I had a hell of a time burning any discs on my parents' computer.
Just try a reboot and see what other programs are running in the background taking up precious RAM.

Mostly depends on the media. I have nothing but errors using TDK disks (piece of crap)

However Sony's have no problems.

Also if the DVD is worn (i.e. Netflix) it may effect the copy.

Some may not work ripping the vob files and such, perhaps try ripping using ISO Read Only.

it was grey's anatomy.

the original disc resembled something like a cutting board, so that probably played a role in it being fucking retarded. oh well, it all worked out.

who here uses anydvd?

I have used it before, but dont use it on a regular basis. I use CloneDVD, doesnt it bypass that copyright crap?
