- natural oatmeal (quantity dependent on number of carbs wanted)
- 7-8 egg whites (20+ g of quality protein)
- a tspn of ground flax seeds sprinkled on oats (healthy fats)
- a scoop (20g) of a quality whey mixed in the oats.

True about not mixing carbs and fat, it is not ideal.
Ideal breakfast would be depended on goals, mine would be steak and eggs, tastes good, is good for you, and won't interfere w/ the fat burning process.

I'm with RippedUp! That is a true breakfast of a champion!
I usually have oatbran, 7 egg whites + 1/2 egg yolk + fat-free cheddar (pure casein), some strawberries and some water. I also take a whole lot of vitamins about 20 minutes before breakfast.
Ok, I've been combining fat and carbs for the last 5 years, my body fat is 8-10% usually.
I'll give this theory a go and see if it drops me down to 6-8%.
I have my own little theory on combining fat and carbs...
I think it is ok to combine a small serving of fat with carbs or vice versa as long as the meal is not too high GI. Even if some extra fat is deposited, the same amount of fat will probably be metabolized at the end of the day. Fat takes so long to digest that serum fat levels shouldn't really be viewed in the short term anyway.
Maybe the best way to apply the theory would be to eat carbs and protein during the first part of the day and fat and protein during the second part (perhaps only 1 or 2 meals). The next morning, early morning cardio on an empty stomach could metabolize existing serum fatty acids. Waiting 45 minutes after cardio to eat breakfast would allow serum fatty-acids to clear the blood by replenishing intramuscular triglycerides. This low serum fatty acid level is a good environment in which to eat carbs and protein because insulin sensitivity is high. Then, as insulin sensitivity declines towards the evening, fat and protein is eaten again.
