i have been looking in and out at this board for some time reading and learning....i have to say this is a very cool place to learn. i would like to say hello to everyone on here and ask a question about blood preasure meds...and gear useage while on them/ resuming gear usage after 5 months off.....i would like to resume usage in december

history: ive been competeing in power lifting for 1 year ive been lifting for 5 years..im 30 years old, current weight is 283, ht 5 ft 6 in, current lift prs.725 sq, 585 bench, 600 dl...sups used:test e 200, prop 100, eq,fina,d-ball,anadrol,deca,anavar....over the course of 1 year at different times

i just went to the dr. for the 1st time in almost 10 years. dr.s terrify me!!! i had blood work done and was diagnosed(sp) with high blood preasure. i have increased cardio, cut back calories/portion sizes, and increased water intake...ive lost 35 pounds in the last 2 months.(mostly due to stopping gear for time off and eating less) id like to lose another 40 pounds or so by december but im not exactly sure how to do it.....i was always pushed to get bigger so in my mind cutting down is kind of like going backwards even though i know it will make competeing and training alot easier(not sure if that makes sence)....i have been put on lotrel 2.5/10 mg 1xday for my blood preasure my initial visit to the dr. my blood preasure was 170/110 yesterday i went in for a follow up and it was 146/68 ....i guess what im asking is can i go back on after i lose some weight and be ok even though ill have to take the blood preasure meds??? also what info do you all need from me to analize how to cut another 40 pounds .....thanks in advance for your time and information......my goal at the end of this is to knock my buddy out of the top 20 list in the 242lb weight class in powerlifting usa.

Not sure what to say other than I would keep it clean and drop the lbs. If you are on medication it is serious!
Good Luck

I have been taking blood pressure med's for years. On gear my pressure is slightly higher but remains controllable. I am interested to find if you have the same experience. I don't quite have the body mass that you do, however, you are correct...dropping the weight will have a significant impact on your BP...unless it is genetic.

Good luck.

PS: Good lift stats!

I don't presume to be a doctor but I'm on captopril (capoten) for my HBP and when I'm on AAS, I use a wrist cuff to monitor my BP every day. If the numbers go up, I simply increase the dosage a bit.

I highly recommend you get yourself a BP monitor and take this stuff seriously.

thank you very much for the info it means alot to be able to get a straight answer from a stranger!!! where can i get a wrist cuff? and how should i moniter it while on......im kind of wierd i guess, im not sure what body type i am but if i pick up a gallon of water ill gain 5 lbs but i cant lose it for crap...

I just checked for you and ebay has nearly 500 monitors for sale. Mine is by Omron and I paid about $50 for it. I decided to go with a wrist monitor because the typical bicep monitor have very small collars and you have to pay almost $30 for one big enough for a BB. Mine is very high tech. Keeps records, charts my pressure day to day, Very cool.

Also I Would like to add Take your BP several times a day try to do each day at the same time, like after a shower, lunch, after work this will give you a more accurate reading, also to help keep your BP down when on gear, be sure to cut out salt,Supplement with Taurine and drink lots of water!a lil cardio never hurt either!
Now that thats been said~ Welcome to Elite!
