i sometimes smoke cigarretes( i know its a disgusting habit but i dont drink or do anything else so cut me some slack) and i find that throughout the day I feel very hot as if i was on an eca or something...i get these hot flashes. Ive read that nicotine can raise one's BMR and make you loose weight....I was wondering if this is the reason i get these hot flashes and feel warm all day. I was also wondering if any of you retain some water whenever you smoke cigarretes...since it raises your body temperature??

It might have something to do with the lack of oxygen getting to the brain... I've also read that smoking (or something in cigarettes) speeds the metabolism somewhat.. I kind of believe that because I notice when people I know quit smoking they tend to put on some weight...

YUM

I don't think that the metabolism increase is all that significant.

Nicotine is a good appetite suppressant but the taste and dryness cigarettes leave in your mouth make you want to eat more(at least for me).

People gain weight after they quit because they have a compulsive need to put something in there mouths that gives them pleasure. Food is often the substitute.

I get bad effects when smoking on a cycle. When I used to smoke I would get massive exertion headaches because my BP would skyrocket. Be careful with that shit. Anyways, nicotene makes you want to eat less, I dont think it raises your BMR - but its possible.
