i was involved in a car accident earlier today

4 cars. I was the one in front that got rear ended but didn't hit the car in front of me, so it's super clear that it wasn't my fault.

the other three cars were 3 super old cars that were all totaled and nobody but me even had airbags. one was so rusty i don't know how it passed inspection.

so i'm car #4 (the last to be hit). the guy in #3 was a nice guy who tried hard to avoid me and couldn't and felt bad. then he asked if i was single and said that it would be a funny story to tell our grandkids one day.
he turned to the cop and said, "this would have been worth it if she wasn't married."
ha ha. everyone laughed but me and car #1, who never got out of her car and just sat in there and chain smoked non stop. fucking idiot. she caused the whole thing and never said a word to anyone.

the guy in car #2 gets out of his car and I ask if he's ok. He said, "i'm just ugly and need my drugs."

ah. awesome.

He said the same thing to the police (5 police cars, an ambulance, and 2 tow trucks), who made him sit in the police car and was still there when i left.

There was also a drunk man who sauntered by and acted like he was also in the accident, but when the police asked him which car he was in, he admitted that he wasn't in any car and didn't even see the accident. he was also very adamant about talking to me while driver #2 continued to tell me about his divorce and how 'perty' i am.

and, because i live in the middle of funking nowhere, the nearest autobody place to me is not even in this state and is around 45 minutes away. i have no muffler, an ugly bumper, no tail light, and my engine makes noises.

well fuck me running. thank goodness i didn't hit anyone.

maybe you haven't learned to read too well yet, but i was the car in front- which means i was the only person who knew how to drive defensively and NOT hit another car, unlike the 2 men and 1 woman behind me.

so maybe driver's licenses should only be given to redheaded women, and not to rednecks like you.

I never talk about that shitz in real life... seems pathetic. On here I do, but IRL... I keep my lipz zipped up....

he was obviously trying to tell me he is divorced and i think he hoped i was, or will be, too.

i'll have to pay the deductable ($1000), which my insurance company said they will try to get back from the person at fault, except that is up for debate as to whether it's the person who directly hit me, or the person who started it.

the guy was cute, but it's the fault of the guy who hit me, since he obviously didn't leave enough room between us.

NO - no deductable - you were hit from behind - just bring it to a center an give them the claim number - let them take care of the rest - also your rental should be fully covered.

no, i have to pay it out, then get reimbursed for the deductable.
they are paying a rental car for $30 a day. I may take it, or just drive a pickup truck for a while. i like the pickup anyway.

with a good insurer - no cash should every change hands when its not your fault. And the rental should be what you need - again this should be subrogated between your insurer and the insure of that person at fault.

double check please.

i have geico and i definately checked.
he said i could go after the other insurance co and not worry about the deductible, except... the police report won't be ready for 11 days. after that, there will most likely be a dispute between the car that hit me and the one that hit him and the one that hit HIM. i won't get things settled until they settle it.

OR, i could go to a geico shop (or one of my choosing) and pay the deductable and nothing else, then wait to be reimbursed for the deductible when the case is closed and the responsible party is figured out.

i think- to be fair- they really can't take my word for it, even if it's clear to me.
they said they'll pay for a rental car up to $30 a day but gas, extra insurance, and an upgrade is up to me. that's ok, except i sure as shit know that whatever i get for $30 isn't going to come close to what i own.

i think the other three cars were insured with bubblegum and duct tape, but i'm glad i have geico.

i'm sore today, but that's ok.
 
I despise that "didn't leave enough room between you and the car in front of you" bullshit.

Who does that anyways? If you do while driving then people just pull in front of you, often making you hit your brakes.

I never ride a bumper of the car in front of me, but there has been several times I could have been at fault even though it was due to some fucktard in front of me. Like one time me and this car in front of me was in a turning lane. Well the car suddenly slams on his brakes. I react and stop probably a half inch from his bumper after skidding. It was an extrelely old man who decided to stop and look at something. That is bullshit.

What if someone locked his/her car up on the interstate and you were behind them, do you honestly think you could stop without hitting them? Well that's the same concept.

probably not- i almost hit the car in front of me. but, most people (including me) usually drive too close to the car in front. if you've ever taken defensive driving, they explain how much room you SHOULD leave, although most times it seems silly or impossible.

all i care about is my insurance company knowing i wasn't at fault. :)

That's my point.

If you leave that room, all it accomplishes is people pulling in front of you. It's usually people getting ready to make a right turn too, thus forcing you to hit your brakes.

Personally, I think the bitch in car #1 who started the who chain reaction should be responsible for all vehicles involved.

yeah, i guess you're right. i think the insurance companies agree with you too, which is fine with me.

farking idiot just sat in her car chain smoking after the accident.

JK, document EVERYTHING. See a Dr. if you don't straighten up quickly. I was involved in a fatal a little over a year ago, and even though everything points to him being a suicidal idiot, his family still can file until next spring. It sucks.

wow. that sucks. I really think i'm fine.
the whole thing was very surreal afterwards with the other people there and the entire police department too. I think i was mostly shaken up last night.
 
Thank goodness you already had two large air bags deployed prior to getting bumped in the rear.

the only thing that ever matters after an accident occurs is that everyone left the scene uninjured. you did, thats all that matters. glad to hear it.

If I were to rear end stilleto I'd then have to reach around and make sure her "airbags" were properly deployed.
