I think I got fired already

In all the jobs I have ever had in my life I have never had a superior raise their voice at me in a belittling fashion let alone a coworker. Tonight this tall lanky fuck that is friends with my boy who got me the job decides to try and be johny hard ass and raise his voice to me in front of a large group of people. I didn't want to cause a scene so I swollowed my pride and continued my job at hand. After 3 fights break out and all kinds of hell breaks loose the bar finally closes and I confront him about what he did. I went on to tell him that if ever yelled at me like that again as if he were somebody I would knock all his teeth out.

My GM saw it and tells me to take my shirt of and go home. We had a little talk and he said that because I had only worked there for two days and the other guy for 7 months I should not have said anything. I then went on to tell him thats not the way I work and he said for me to loose my ego. When those words came out of his mouth I seriously entertained the thought of putting my forehead through his nose but I calmly disagreed and left. He never said I was fired or not but I think the whole ordeal is bullshit.

The dude yelling at me was another coworker and just because he is friends with my boy does not put him in any kind of "safe zone" allowing him to mouth off to me. Was I in the wrong for saying what I did?

No, but perhaps you could have taken the lanky streak of piss to a secluded location, told him what you did, then if he decided to tell anyone it would have been your word against his. He sounds like the type to mix business with pleasure.....wait till he's in there drunk and do what you wan to him, he was drunk and rowdy can be your defence.

Why did he raise his voice to you?

Bottom line is you need to follow their rules........if they say you need to keep your mouth shut you do irrespective of how you normally work. Just focus and prove your worth.....that way the lanky guy ends up looking stupid.

u get people like that all the time

minus the physical threat u were in the right. if you had told him never to fucking talk down to u in front of anyone again, then when he said he will do what he wants you could have told him you'll see if the manager thinks so

Here was my post to you yesterday, before you went to work!
Just call me Nostradamus of just someone who has "been there done that"

"It's a great job, at $10/hour you can pay for the teeth that get knocked out on a lay a way plan. Dude, I did it - and its for suckers."
