I swear I'm the only guy with the ORIGINAL playstation...

I only have time to play it like once or twice a month....and all I play is Madden 2003....cuz I beat all the military games I bought already.
 
I have the PSone.. it's a much smaller version of the original playstation. So you're not alone buck. I bought a stupid military game called "spec ops"... I can't even fucking figure it out.. I read the direction and after the first like 5 minutes of playing I die every time. Maybe I just wasn't cut out to command troops.

Yeah I have the smaller one too. I think I already beat that game...are you in 2 man Ranger teams?
 
Just have one soldier stay back the whole time, and go through the level w/ only one soldier. Move up the back up soldier once you've cleared the area for him.
 
That's a great idea actually. My only problem then is keeping the first guy from getting sniped.
 
Arm him w/ a sniper rifle....move mostly in the prone. Go for the high ground first and take out all enemies in view.
 
Hey buck.. I gave what you said a try.. had a sniper go ahead in the prone position and take people out.. it kinda worked.. but I can't see the bad guys.... I don't even know where the hell they are half the time when they're shooting at me until I'm already dead. I've never really been good at video games anyway.. I don't have the dedication it takes. I never even beat SMB1
 
Well i don't even have the small one, so i guess i am even father behind than you guys, mine does have the chip though.
 
The original playstion? are you kidding? that shit is cutting edge compared to what I have sitting in front of my TV. Thats right, I still have the atari 2600, and not the sleek one but the original with the big ass switches. Now that is old school.

However, i also have a bunch of newer systems like the original Nintendo and sega genesis.
 
Socom is the best game i have ever played,it actually takes specific timing and planning to get through the missons,if you just take off with no plan you die

i love it
 
Don't feel to bad. It took me a while to get a PS2 but I had a Dreamcast for a while. Some PS1 games are still pretty cool but many look just plain awful when compared to PS2, Xbox games.
 
dont buy a ps2. I have one right now from my friend, the graphics sucks COMPARED to XBox or Gamecube

I'd buy xbox if I had the money

I love high quality graphics, especially since I mostly play shooters (PC), BUT the if the game looks good but is shit to play then it doesn't matter to me, I prefer gameplay over graphics. If the game is good people will play it (remember D?).

I could whup out my NES and have a good time, I'll still play MS-DOS games still because they are fun now and again.
 
I've gone through 3 PS2's at this point... PS2 #1 broke after a trip cross-country, PS2 the second was a "refurbished" replacement sent by Sony that broke within two days, and the third one was traded in for a Japanese-region console. It just turned a year old today, and no problems yet - knock on wood.

On the subject of old consoles, I still have my Commodore 64. :o

I had a Vectrex for the long but finally gave it away to a younger cousin about 10 years ago. It really was cutting edge when it came up.

And when it comes to pure gameplay I think the Super Nintendo had some of the best games ever. FF III, Super Metroid, Zelda III, Super Punchout and the list goes on and on.
 
About a year ago on the idea that "everything is on eBay", I in fact did find Vectrex games/consoles/colored overlays etc there :D

SNES was great, and some awesome graphics showed up there towards its last years. I can still appreciate simple games, so long as the gameplay is fun graphics are somewhat secondary.
 
Actually the ps2 has the games, but the graphics are by far inferior to both the Gamecube and X-box. Don't forget that the ps2 was released a full year earlier than the other 2 consoles and that is a lifetime in the electronics biz. Read any review of any multi-console game and the majority of the time the ps2 has the inferior version. This is probably the main reason there is talk about the ps3.

The X-box has the closest to pc quality graphics you can get without spending $1500 on a high-end pc. That being said, I am a ps2 owner, and do not own an x-box.
 
Ive played games like madden 2003 on all platforms and they are pretty much the same graphics wise.

XBOX has the superior graphics but will not have the games available like ps2.. companies like capcom and konami arent producing their franchise games for xbox..

Gamecube has their fixed corner of the market with the Mario, Zelda, Starfox, etc games.. Id probably get the GC before an xbox for the new Zelda alone.

PS2 has the superior online capabilities. xbox requires you to pay for the service..


Graphics dont suck on any of these 3 systems.. look at the screenshots of GTA:Vice City and then tell me ps2 graphics suck..
(btw, GTA:VC comes out 10/29, cant wait)
 
Agreed who graphics don't suck on anyone of these systems. Xbox has the best graphic and Halo is amazing but PS2 has the most games, bigger userbase and probably with it's inferior hardware have the longest life..

There are already over 25,000,000 ps2s out there. Sony is a machine.
 
I HAVE AN XBOX BUT I'M THINKING OF GETTING A PS2 TO HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.


XBOX IS GETTING GAMES AT A RAPID PACE. TO SAY THAT FRANCHISE GAMES ARENT COMING OUT FOR IT IS RIDICULOUS.
