I saw her speak last night on "E." I didn't get to see a whole lot in terms of her overall view on the Iraq conquest, but she made some good points, including the one about the 25 billion or so the Bushies are cutting from Veteran's benefits...she seems to be a very intelligent person, rather than the (mostly) obnoxious idiots I saw protesting on CSPAN

Yeah,

I don't agree with most of what she says, but I respect anyone who educates themself on the issues before they speak for or against something. I have very little respect for most of Hollywood, because they don't have a fucking clue!

I respect her for having the balls to portray such consistently manly characters, as well as being so much like a man in real life as well.

There is a difference between sounding intelligent and actually being so. When you hear her speak you also need to realize that her profession is acting. She's sheltered, holier than thou, and out of touch with the common folk. Maybe she has points. But I'm not listening.

I respect her. Her acting ability that is. I haven't seen any recent interviews with her. But she is a DAMN FINE actress. Played a lot of diverse roles.

And has a nice singing voice too.

You should work on being one or the other because you are lacking in both departments.

Hmm...I'm more educated than you (probably). I also have the life experience of fighting in a war. And you correct people's grammar and I think you're Canadian. Do the math dipshit.

She's a good actress who spent weeks training for that interview. BFD. Besides E is a celebrity ass kissing channel. If she was actually smart she would accept Bill O'Reilly's open invitation to appear on the factor. The only mouthy celebs so far to accept are Sharpton and Rosie O'Donnel.

She's a full of herself primadonna bitch in person.

Really?

My mom met with her a bunch of times for some human rights related stuff -- said she was friendly and polite.

Mom also said Mrs. Sarandon was better informed and smarter than most of the other people there (including numerous PhD's).

Then agian, maybe thats just the way she acts in a professional situation. Could be a total bitch in normal life. :)

I have to say that she always seemed to be really smart in interviews but she needs to bring down that nose a little. I also have to give her credit for actually not caring if voicing her opinions destroy her prospects of getting work again not like that coward Madonna and the Dixie Chics (backed down after one of them said in LONDON on stage that she was ashamed Bush came from Texas).

Interesting....you may be right...Velvett too... I was hoping she would be a little better voice of the opposition...most people who strongly question this stuff aren't out protesting or getting themselves on television...often it's only the idiots...I saw some protesting on Cspan that was moderately depressing in it's poor logic... They were calling for the immediate removal coalition forces from Iraq, as if that would accompish anything but anarchy.

Anyway good posts from everyone except for Little France.

I did not say she was unintelligent or an untalented actress, I said she is a full of herself, primadonna bitch. Which is directly related to her acting career and the need to be catered to, doted over and recognized.

I had the unfortunate experience of sharing a table with her and 7 other guests at the Star Room last summer while she had her second temper tantrum. (The first being when she was told she was not "on the list" and had to pay for her ticket/plate.)

"Don't you KNOW who am I?"

.....you just KNOW they added some sort of bodily fluid to her food...

Nothing special about this behavior, sounds like any number of females I have had the extreme pleasure of forgetting.
