I pulled a back muscle - how to work back now?

Pulled a muscle in my back on Monday doing deadlifts (didn't warm up properly, my own fault) - lower area of lat on right hand side. Quite painful.

Saturday is back day again - what to do? Work it lightly with some other ex's - like lat pulldowns? Not work it?

What's the best option?

if your back hurts, rest it... don't even take the chance with it...

and since the back is a stabalizing muscle that may mean skipping or going real easy on some of the other muscle groups... (i.e. legs mainly, but anything else that you need to stabalize yourself... you'll probably either have to go real light or stick to machines on some exercises)...

back problems are no joke, you mess it up now and you may have issues for a long time to come...

Thanks Phem - guess I'll skip back this week - you're right - it got worse after shoulders (standing military presses).

If you pull something then you obviously should not train it!! Let your body rest and go from there..training it will just cause more stress to the problem and probably make it worse...then where will you be?? Out for another few weeks when it could have been taken care of with a little rest to begin with...dont take chances and train something that is really hurt.
