First of all, I wanna say whats up!! This forum is great and I just got my Platinum Membership!!!

I have a situation where I literally have 2-3 minutes to eat something fast, and can have another solid meal in about 2 hours after this. I've tried having shakes but really dont like to chug it down real fast, and they just don't keep me full.

I have to do this two times a week...Due to bad class scheduling. Right now I am on a clean bulk, I'm currently 172lbs at 7% bf, and 5'11. I'm trying to bulk up to about 185-190 but as slow/clean as possible.

I was wondering what you guys thought of me having these bars twice a week...

http://greensplus.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_65/products_id/155

Will these hurt my body fat, or are they fine as a mid morning snack to hold me over to lunch? I usually have a big breakfast at 630, and have a one of these at 930, and lunch around 1130-12. To me it seems rather clean, since the fat comes from PB, the protein from whey, and the sugars/carbs from fruit and honey.

If anyone knows of a better bar, nutrition wise, please let me know as well. So far these are the cleanest I have found. Also I have tried making my own but they just dont survive well in the florida heat in my bag.

Thanks in advance!

Bump. I'd like to hear some opinions on this as well. I also have class 2x a week at night which prevents me from getting a meal from 5-9:30, I'd like to have a bar in there but also want it to be quality calories. What does everyone suggest. Not trying to jack your thread bro, I have the same problem

I'm going to assume you're a guy, so you have no business using protein bars with soy protein in them. You're on the right track for an organic protein bar, but I suggest you find something with no soy protein.

It's on the front page, click the link yourself...also, in case you didn't know, FDA standards allow supplement companies to disguise soy protein as other "soy" based ingredients, just like natural and artificial flavors can be harmful food additives.

It's a semi-positive product for women to use, but I don't recommend it for males. The estrogenic properties have never given me a green light to suggest it to any of my clients.

Mr. X - do you have any brand recommendations for bars? I'm kinda in the same boat as the OP, where many times in the week I have to grab a meal replacement bar in the car while in transit or at a site.

Thanks.

Depends on where you live. Some countries have almost no PB choices.

Good ole USA.

While brands vary, some met-rx bars - those without high fructose corn syrup - can be a good start. I suggest you go to an organic store and see if you can get a moderate protein, high-fiber MRPB.

Mr. X, I talked to someone and they told me the website has not been updated. The soy is in the energy bars, but if you look at what I posted that is what is currently in the protein bars.

How do you feel about them...

.

someone at the company?

Yes. I called there contact number and talked to a rep, and said the protein bars are fairly new. The energy bars have soy, and the protein bars are whey.

Again...What do you think about them?! :)

Relax bro....#1 soy is fine in moderation, I personally would go with any form of protein, but you arent gonna get tits from soy.

#2, Protein bars in general are supplements. Thats how they should be used. In emergencys only. Pack a ww sandwhich, make a whey/casein shake, plenty of other ideas you can explore.

I havent had a bar in years, but in a pinch, I would go with myoplex, detour oats, or nitrotech.....low sugar, high protein is what you want.

Definetly try to plan ahead your meals for the next day(s). As JKurz stated... even something as simple as a sandwich or some lean sliced meat in a baggy. You'll figure something out. The body was made to process whole foods... Bars taste nasty any way (for the most part).

It's a fairly balanced bar between p/f/c's, so I would say give it a go. :)

Thanks bro, I appreciate it. I've been searching for a decent bar for a while, and this seems to be the best I have found soo far :)
