Hey guys,

I need some post workout simple carbs, about 75-100g's. Its hard to find something with that. Today I ate 2 big apples after my workout. Since you need simple sugars after your workout, and almost every single shake on the market is low carb these days, what do you suggest??

thanks,

Just so everyone knows, here is a definition of simple carbs :)

Simple carbohydrates - Simple carbohydrates are monosaccharides and disaccharides occurring naturally in fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. Some examples of simple carbohydrates are glucose, galactose, and fructose, all of which are monosaccharides and, sucrose, lactose, and maltose, all of which are disaccharides.

Most simple carbohydrates elevate blood sugar levels rapidly, providing "instant energy" which is quickly utilized and dissipated. Fructose is an exception. Additionally, refined sources of simple carbohydrates, such as candy, contribute only calories to the diet. These "empty calories" are often consumed in place of foods which would provide important nutrients in addition to the energy.

galactose? so that means milk is good for a PWO shak then, yes?

"simple carbs" does not always mean "high GI carbs"

ooooh shoot, damn. major brain stretching. ok, I'll order dextrose.

maltodextrines are also OK

How much dextrose do you think I should buy for my order of 10lbs of Optimum Protein whey? Should 6lb of dextrose be enough?

What's a better carb, dextrose or maltodextrin? The maltodextrin prices seem very high compared to dextrose. I can get 2lbs of dextrose for $2 and 24oz(I assume around 2lbs) of maltodextrin for $5.

I got my dextrose in today...how many teaspoons do I take to achieve 75'gs of carbs? It says its 4g's of carbs every teaspoon so this means i take 19 teaspoons?? i know this cant be right..
