ok. We have a 30k generator (detroit desiel) that eats oil. We have to check it every 3 days and wind up adding a gallon. The pan only holds 2.5 gallons.

We were thinking of setting up a 5 gallon drip into the pan, but need to know at what rate the drip should be set at. 5 gallons should last 15 days. Down to the second, I need to know how fast/slow this thing should drip.

:D thanks.

btw - fixing the oil leak or whatever it is that is making this pig eat it is not our goal.

not a clue but if you're ever curious about sex with an old washed up and broken down black man I'm your man.

You're looking at 0.0015 oz per second so maybe two to three drips per second, or ~0.1 oz per minute, or 5.3 oz per hour.

We haven't tried it yet - when we get it set up, I'll let you know who was right, or closest.

Well you need 5gals for 15 days or 640 oz per 15 days or 42.667 per day or 1.777 per hour or .0296 per hour or .0005 per minute or .000008 per second.

First one I was going for one gallon every three days. So the above is now correct for 5 gallons per 15 days.
