I need Dos please help

Does anyone have a newer version of dos or ms-dos? I put Windows XP on my computer and its sucks Cause i have no dos at all now and im getting ready to run dual hard drive one with dos. Please send it to [email protected]

there is the comman prompt which gives you access to the command line interface - basically the newest dos.

no ms-dos promp in XP. ive even tried to make a boot disk and still didnt work. i need dos to flash my chips with updates.

um - I have xp at home - there is a dos prompt.

go to the run menu and type cmd

there are certain DOS-Programs, that only work under native DOS and not from the command prompt in W98/W2K/XP. For example most bios flashers. There is a trick to get native dos under Windows ME, but not in NT/W2K or XP. Thats why i still have a working ME on my systems to get to native dos when needed. Check out

for free versions of different DOSs you might be able to install on boot floppies.

What do you mean you can't get it to boot to a disk?

You might need to check your BIOS settings and make sure the floppy drive is before the hard drive in terms of boot order.
