I need advice

This should probably go in pics of members but I'm looking for advice so here it is. I am depressed and can't decide what to do. Normally I have my bulking and cutting planned out but I have lost my focus a little bit. Not in the gym, I'm still consistant and train with good intensity it's just that I look like shit right now. I'm at that point that I'm too lean to feel fat and too fat to feel lean (if that makes sense). Do I bulk or cut? I just don't know and it's pissing me off. I need an honest critique and my skin is thick enough to hear honesty so just throw it out there. I don't have aspirations to get to 240 and 8% but I can't stand being in limbo like I am. I feel flat, if I bulked I'd look fuller and if I got I'd have more seperation. If you were in my shoes what would you do???

Here's a pic

The pics are kinda small, but my first impression is to bulk. What are your stats?
5'8.5" 192lbs. The heaviest I've been in the last year or so is 206 and the leanest I've been is 8% (I wish those 2 stats were at the same time)

The pics are too small. If any of you have an email addy that I can send the pic to and you are interested in giving me an honest critique PM me and I'll send it in a larger format.

You look lean and fit. I can see abs and cuts.

Sounds like you want to set some new goals and get working
on achieving them.

It's fun getting bigger. You eat big, lift big and rest a lot.

How about establishing some measureable goals ... added inches and body weight ... Then develope the routine and diet to achieve them?

Chart your progress. (I use Excel.)

i need to see a picture that is bigger..... but whwere do u ultimately wanna be?

i know whut u mean no though u feel either fat or skinny now where in between

plus there are no flex pics so its hard to see muscle separation and things like that. personally i like the 195-205 look at about 6-8%bf. i'd cut if i were you and put on lean muscle

Dayum son. I'll take 2 to go please. No don't bother wrapping them. ;)

Seriously - do you have anything you'd like different just to see if you can make a change? E.g. bigger arms, wider lats, whatever? (Also wish you had posted the wheels!)

You loook great as is - a very comfortable build & weight for your size - probably have the girls tripping over themselves too.

I might suggest a bulking cycle where you goal is not so much to get "bigger" but maybe more to shape your shoulders & arms - from the pix they look smaller proporationally to your chest. Might put some more cap on the delts. thicker arms. Might just be the pix, but that might be a fun goal. :) And then when spring comes start your cut down and see what changes you got from the whole experience.

i agree your chest is huge and you need the arms to match, however we havent seen a good angle of your arms or them flexed. pm me a bigger pic bro

Bro, the big picture type of advice you are looking for such as "bulk more" or "cut more" is very individualistic IMO, and is usually predicated by the indvidual's goals.

Similar to what The Lion mentioned, how about some specific bodypart goals instead of all over? For example, here's what I could muster from the small photo

Abs: Looks like you've got some very good ab development, but they look a little masked by water in the photo/distended - perhaps some YES from AF store or Lipoderm from Avant Labs specifcally on abs could help.

Chest: Focus on furthering your upper chest separation. Lower chest seems to have pretty good mass and shape.

Back/lats: Increase lat spread/width from front.

As far as the rest, upper body seems to have good symmetry, chest seems to dominate upper body a little though. Nice delts and lower-bis. Good trap/delt separation, and neck looks good. Possibly a little more thickness in the traps.

Now, I wouldn't normally offer this up to any indivdiual unsolicited, especially to someone who works out and diets hard, unless they specifically requested as you did. I like to do the same from bros I respect. Most dedicated bodybuilders and athletes are usually their own worst critic, keep that in mind.

If you are still concerned about your dilemma, and want to really solicit more feedback, help us out bro with a side and back photo, as well as legs/calves.

You trying to make me blush Sassy? haha. I think you may be right as far as just picking some parts to tweak. My shoulders aren't well represented in the pic but are actually my best body part but my arms are weak in comparison. It's just the same old story of feeling fat when I bulk and skinny when I cut. This sport drives me crazy! By the way, are any of your gallery pics you? There are some that look pretty damn good I must say.

LOL like you're going to get any sympathy ("I feel fat...") from someone who has to deal w/ estrogen... :lmao: I swing +/- 20 - 30 lb every time I compete. That's brutal.

The big "off season" bicep & the other suit pic w/ the face red'd out is me.

I guess there's a time for "bulking" & a time for "cutting" unless you are just looking for a happy medium to maintain. Otherwise, I'd just pick the parts that are the weakest and work to balance out your whole physique. You probbably don't need to do a 30 lb weight swing but rather just do some nice building w/ a lean diet and focus on developing shape. Unless you are looking to compete, you probably just want to be comfortable in your own skin and if you rely on the time in the gym as a critical part of your day just to stay sane, then just keep kicking it.

I find if I don't have a specific goal I start flailing around & get nowhere. So if that's where you are, then I'd look to start refining all the great stuff you already have. For myself, I'm done w/ the BB stuff -I love it but to compete at my height I really need another 20 lb of muscle. Its hard enough living in my skin off season so I'm looking to just strip off a layer in general and try a figure competition (just because I paid the $800 for the suits & haven't used them yet) and then just sort of be happy w/ my body. More yoga / pilates, more agility / aerobic activity than building. I'm thinking a 15" bicep is big enough.

My estrogen problems may be different than yours but I still have them believe me.haha. You'll kick ass in figure I think. You've definitely got the right frame and very sexy by the way (well, in the suit very sexy. The arm shot? I'd just be afraid that you could kick my ass)
