Can some of you recommend something? Prefferably fiction, not Danielle Stelle (KB), not a Tom Clancy kind of fan. I'm tired of T.V. and can't read American Psycho again or I'll become Patrick Bateman.

Dean Koontz
Watchers, Lightening, Intensity

Ken Grimwood
Replay

Frank Peretti
Monster

Author C Clark and Stephen Baxter
The Light of Other Days

tigana by guy gavriel ray is a good read, hard to keep interest at first as its kinda jumpy but once you get into the groove you wont want to put it down

Excellent suggestion and some of my most enjoyable reads (the first 2 were awesome, Intensity was ok)

You can check out John Saul who had a book Creature about steroid using mutating teenagers.

Angels and Demons (?) by Dan Brown

David Sedaris is a hilarious read.

I am reading Danielle Steel. Whats so wrong about that? lol
Koontz does have a lot of good reads

yea, koontz is in the horror thriller group and yet not as wordy or long
as King IMO. Most of his books happen over several days at the most
with few exceptions. Fast paced and action vs long historical strory lines

Watchers

Lightning

Koontz' style is usually good vs evil

He can get pretty scary and visually graphic hence the Horror label. Mostly thriller adventure stuff though vs King being more bad whacko stuff without a happy ending in many of his books. Koontz usually ends on a good note.

Lots of bad people and psyco murderers are used in koontz plots with innocent people getting whacked in nasty ways. Or its some entity that is whacking and you aren't told what it is until mid book.

Some Science fiction or Technology related, some supernatual, some mystical,
usually touches on aspects of devine intervention yet not really speaking of
a certain religious group. Mostly dealing with someone that was weak and
steps up to the plate and kicks ass.

I have this loaned from my sis and am having issues getting it started.
Is it really that good ?

yes, once you are into it is quite good.

It is about a boy growing up in Afghanistan before the Taliban took over and fucked it all up.

Very well written.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

amazing

Agreed. Good to see someone has read that book. It's great. I don't read for recreation, read the first few pages and he's a gret storyteller.
