I mix my own post workout shake,What should I should I add to it?

Ok I mix 2-3 scoops of optimum whey protein 44-68 grams protein.I than add 5g of creatine and 5 grams of Glutamine I put it in my shaker and drink it starting on my last sets and finish it down when I'm complete.Now what elses hould I mix in with this.Im going to purchase some supplements tommorrow and just trying to figure out what to get, brand etc...
 
try throwing a banana and ice in there if you can get your hands on a blender, helps with the taste, i really didn't like the taste of optimum too much, look into flax seed oil as well

To me other than the whey, the most important piece you're missing is the Dextrose or Maltodextrin.
I take an empty bottle w/ me to the gym, 50g dextrose w/ 5g Creatine and 5g glutamine and drink before I leave or before my last set. Then when I get home and muscle glycogen is restored hopefully, I drink 50g whey, then a solid meal.
Just some thoughts to help ya out.
 
that is all a PITA if you ask me. just find a good whey/carb pre mixed powder like mass fuel or surge or even a weight gainer formula and add some creatine/glutamine to it. it is certainly easier than getting a protein powder and carb powder seperate.
 
If you are taking free form L-Glutamine, and not glutamine peptides I suggest taking your glutamine with carbs about fifteen min. before you drink your whey. Glutamine doesnt compete well with other aminos for absorbtion.-WULF
 
If I were you I would add shit to it, but im not you. I would add a banana + peanutbutter. Or, ice cream and strawberries, if it is vanilla flavour.
