Never really heard it much before. borrowed a greatest hits CD.

I think it´s really good, honest masculine stylish music

The sad songs actually get to me a bit. That´s extremely rare I´m usually icecold.

Is the guy still singing? Is his recent stuff any good or is he just dwelling on old success?

Yeah he's still singing. He came out with The Rising a few years ago. The Rising might be my favorite song.

Bruce is tremendous - I am a big music guy (as you can tell by my name) and I went to see his solo acousitc tour both in providence and Boston over the last couple of weeks. (also saw him at Fenway and the Garden a few years ago with the E street band.)

His music is simple, but he writes and plays with an authentic, honest intensity that you cannot fake. No amount of popcorn lyrics, dance moves, or flashy clothes can ever touch what Springsteen has done over the past 30 years.

Bruce, Elvis and Bob Dylan are the holy trinity of American music.

Needless to say, I am a fan.

Yeah because The Beatles, Rolling Stones, U2, Radiohead and Coldplay are all British!

Mentioning Coldplay in the same sentence as those others is absurd.

Exactly what I was thinking. Coldplay is a decent band, but to compare their stuff to Radiohead is like comparing "Mary had a Little Lamb" to Beethoven.

The Beatles invented pop music, U2 is the best pure "rock and roll" band ever to come out of Europe (they are Irish, not British), and Radiohead may be the most innovative band ever...

But the Stones just ripped off the blues. I would take Led Zeppelin and the Who far before I would even mention the Stones.

I like them very much. They definitely still have much more to prove. They seem to be the most promising to make good music in the future.

i heard his version of Blinded by the Light is better than Manfred Mann's. still haven't found it yet.

I personally can´t stand U2 one bit.

I agree with this page too much for that

I'm not a U2 fan at all. They have many flaws that critics such as in the above link can latch onto, and these are legitimate complaints. But if you ignore the content and just listen to the noise, they're a band who transcend the limitations of their merely adequate musicianship and rock out. I have never owned a U2 album, and likely never will, but I'd pay good money to see them live.

the boss' version of "pink cadillac" puts all the wanne bees and divas in their place.

"prove it all night" STILL makes the chicken skin pop up on my arms and makes me shiver.

"the river" describes all too many guy's lives i know to perfection. thank gaud it didn't happen to me.

bruce's music has been part of the soundtrack of my life since the late 70's.

i grew up on the Boss...my dad used to play Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town on the record player as I slept.

his best album is "Darkness on the Edge of Town." best cd I own. he's just raw and real...i love it..

yeh, "darkness" was the album that i discovered bruce with.... been with him ever since.

his performance in the movie "no nukes" was entergetic and electrifiying.....but carly simon was hotter.... :)

he's getting kinda old to sing some of his songs, though.

the boss is the fucking man

Waiting on a sunny day, Born to Run, Born in the USA, better days, and so many more... pure genius. One of the best live shows money can buy also.

ps coldplay are good!
