file for unemployment, fine tune your resume, take a few weeks off and relax.....then start a campaign...

That's not true. I'm not sure if it's different state to state, but I know for a fact it caps out at about double that where I live.

From what I can see....jobs are not scarce right now. I would suppose that depends largely on your field.

I've been laid off for almost 3 months now and am absolutely no closer to finding a job. I work in computers by the way in Dallas which is a prime market for tech jobs. I sit at home all day, fuck around on the net, touch myself a lot, and occasionally go outside to work on my tan. Unemployment is about $574 every two weeks, basically impossible to live off of if you have rent, car payment, and other assorted bills. Don't waste time in getting your resume on every single job website there is. I'm assuming you weren't waiting tables or serving up Happy Meals.

unemployment differs in each state, and also scales with how much you make. I know my coworkers that got laid off get $2K a month - and my living expenses are $3K a month... so I wouldn't last that long.

lol - excellent point - didn't take that into account. that would give me $100 a month more for movies. perfect since I probably spend about $40 a month on movies ($20 a month for netflix subscription and $20 for a movie (both my gf and me)).
