I just dropped acid

Scotsman

New member
Hydrochloric acid that is, on my hand. Problem is I am too tired to get up and go wash it off. So I think I'll just sit here and see how long it burns for.

MAn, i was all ready to read about the pink elephants you were seeing and some eradic typing.

I have a question for you though that I have been wanting to ask. IF you don't believe in God why would have pentagram for a tatoo. Without God there couldn't be a devil right?

Basically because the pentagram was in use about a thousand years before christianity reared it's head and has absolutely nothing to do with the judea/christian idea of the devil.

Originally when trying to convert the celts and vikings the catholic church told them to incorporate it into the religion as it stood for the five wounds of christ. Then after a couple of hundred years the told them they couldn't use it anymore as it was satanic. Same thing with the celtic crosses. at first they depicted norse mythology on them and gradually strayed away from the pics embedded as the older religions lost out.

Good observation about not being able to believe in the devil without believing in god, but please try to remember that this is a very young idea in the course of mankind and most of today's symbols that are deemed evil by the christian church predate it by hundreds to thousands of years.

The original use of the pentagram is as a symbol of great strength and protection for its wearer. Also a representation of the sacred feminine as most older religions are female based. This stems from the "magical" ability of women to reproduce that was celebrated by these older religions. Later coinciding with some star pathways and the passage of time. The pentacle or pentagram is one of the most sacred of the earth symbols and is found in the symbolism of nearly every ancient culture throughout the world.

But that's enough for symbolism and history for now.

Although the pentagram was previously associated with withcraft (because of it's roots in magic) it wasn't associated with satanism until the 60's when Anton Lavey started the church of Satan. But he uses an inverted pentagram which represents a goats head.

You sound pretty knowlegable on the subject. Where did the maltese cross come about?

It and the iron falcon are symbols of the roman emperor. Thus the reason Hitler adopted these and many other symbols as he considered himself a hereditary emperor. That is where the third reich(reign) came from. Although a madman and all around horrible person, Hitler was extremely intelligent and very much a world historian.
