I have officially changed jobs...

I was in investment banking for 4 years and have decided to leave what I was doing in wall street to move onto a different aspect of business; consulting and auditing for a Big 4 firm. This move is very random, but I think I will like the change of pace and it'll look good on the 'ol resume.

:supercool

Base was 'normal' for a wall street banker. Bonus was 'asinine,' if that makes sense.

Way to narrow it down for Tiger there.

I thought you were in South America or Kiev.

Under disclosure you will not hear it from me. If by chance, I am drunk and "under the influence," you may see some relevant information, but sawastea is not to be blamed for breaking any SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations.

Sure Bud Fox.

What firm bro? Same place right, just different division?

Bro, if you are gonna work for them, you need to learn some things upfront.. its PwC.. not PWC.

Also, can you get assigned to QCOM bro???? come on down man.. we've got about 10 in house.. 8 are chicks and 7/8 are hotter then hell.

Wanted to do something new and be more well-rounded. It was great at LEH but the hrs were kinda fucked up at times.

My cousin works for RSM. He hates his career.

I'm sure it has a lot to due with post 9/11 codes and regulations. It made many people leave the business to find alternative careers.

Congrats Sawastea!!!! :)

My new firm pays OT :)

That being said, I know the hours are there. It is a different 'business' and I want to get a different perspective on how businesses are run, from an acct side of the table. My long term goals are still to pursue private wealth management.

AIG....consulting?

Tell them to quit setting up bogus Caribbean reinsurance shams to fake losses.

Two words: Coral Reinsurance

Two more: Spitzer knows

I am very intrigued about learning about the shit going on at AIG. From Greenberg's scandal to the Re's and Buffett's involvement, it'll be a great learning experience.

Congrats bor. I still don't understand why you'd leave finance for consulting, but WTF do I know?

I ask myself that periodically too. They'll be a lot of traveling involved, but considering all the shit that goes down in Manhattan is overwhelming, my travels will be from one side of Manhattan to the other and a bit to the larger cities.

Do what makes you happy and pays the biggest return.

However ... work sucks!

I started at 14 and hated it. I am free now and looking back, I wonder how I put up with the insanity.

Cool mang, PwC is a good firm, I've met a few of their global practice leads...smart doods.

It's not typically the fastest way into asset management - either at a fund or private wealth management. Private equity is usually the way to get into that, and that usually comes out of some well placed investment banking contacts.

Then again, I met the guy who gave me my opportunity at the gym.

Good luck.
