I have not been convinced that this war is just.

Now this argument is horse plop 2thick, come on. You need to start somewhere. If we started with someone else, you would be saying the same thing. If we picked 2 other dictators, you would be saying we are starting a war that is bigger than we can chew. Things have to start somewhere.

Start somewhere.....that's the easy part, where will it end JJ, has anyone including Bush thought of that.....i don't think so.

This shit is much much bigger than a few rag tag Muslim countries in the Middle East.

Possibly the most dangerous is Malaysia and Indonesia, who's radical factions are far more militant and dangerous than anything the middle east could ever come up with.

Unfortunately, the consequences of this war will be far worse than the global situation which prevailed prior to the war.

I'm sure he, his staff, advisors, and the intellegence community just woke up one day and decided to "throw a war," with no thought as to the outcome.

It was actually masterminded in 1994 by Wolfawitsz and Perle. They know the outcome will be chaos and in the end the .01% of the population will finally have the power they always wanted.

The only outcome that they had in mind when this war started was ousting Saddam Hussein from Iraq.......at any cost.

if WMD were the only reason we wouldn't be attacking. Alot of middle east countries have WMD. http://cns.miis.edu/research/wmdme/map.htm

The reality is Iraq lost a war 12 years ago and signed a cease fire. They routinely broke the cease fire now war is restarting.

I am not 100% sure what the real purpose of this war is, the motives are only so-so. Selling/giving wmd is something that any middle eastern country, Russia or N. Korea may do so that can't be the sole reason.

Supporting terrorism is the same way, but Iraq may be one of the few states that is suspected of officially/covertly supporting terrorism against the US. p0ink had a good link to a frontline site showing how Iraq had terrorist camps

I thought terrorist camps were why the US invaded Afghanistan. Besides, the Iraqi terrorist group Ansar al-Islam is supposedly tied to Al Quaeda

in the end, Iraq started a war in 1990, signed a cease fire to end hostilities and broke it. Thats not a bullet proof argument, but its by and large true.

I personally think this war is justified, but i am not sure if its a good idea.

Really?

What about Syria, Pakistan, Sudan, Lybia, Yemen etc.

The other thing that has frustrated Bush into this war is the lack of progress on finding Bin Laden. He needs a scalp and needs one badly in his war on terrorism........Saddam is that scalp.

It's kinda like grade school.

You come to school with a killer snack or dessert of your momma's homemade brownies and the big kid that sit way way across the lunch room is eyeing out your brownies.

The big kid has to have your momma's brownies because he's the big kid and thereby better than you.

He will have your brownies whether or not you surrender them to him. He will push those in his way aside to get your brownies and do what he needs to get the brownies from you no matter what - even if you get in his way, you will be removed.

When he grows up he realizes that he should just skip you and go straight to your momma for the brownies.

I'm not going to say anything humoursly sarcastic because i don't know you and you might take it offensively, but that reminds me of Happy Gilmore when he gave that speech about Puppies and industrialization and the host said

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational though. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul."

Sorry. I can't resist being an ass.

aren't those countries cooperating in the war on terrorism? Even if they aren't that isn't justification for a war. You have to understand that the war on Iraq is, technically, justified under the UN. That excuse doesn't apply to other countries in the middle east.

I agree bush is probably looking for a scalp, someone to use as a trophy in the attempt to fight the US's enemies (who is more well known as a US enemy than Saddam)?. But we are making progress with Al Qaeda. Many high ranking & middle ranking foot soldiers have been captured or killed.
