I would imagine that the best interests of the American people would be the economy and world stability. This is as objective as it gets.

Of course, as in anything objective, we are talking about probablities. Add to your list the reduction of the significant probability of ongoing and future attacks on the civil populations of several countries, facilitated in part by a murderous dictator, and we can start filling in the blanks.

There are dozens of dictators in the world and as you and I both know, he was not a threat to Americans.

I am all for the war on terrorism, but this is not helping in this fight against terror.

They were interviewing some Iraqi official on the news today and he said that this unprovoked attack is likely to produce 100 Osama Bin Ladens. If they hated us b4, they are going to hate us a lot more now, along with much of the world due to what they perceive as U.S. arrogance.

Now this argument is horse plop 2thick, come on. You need to start somewhere. If we started with someone else, you would be saying the same thing. If we picked 2 other dictators, you would be saying we are starting a war that is bigger than we can chew. Things have to start somewhere.

Perhaps. Perhaps disables 500 Bin Ladens from being in the position to act. Perhaps it gives us a strategic location from which to fight the Bin Ladens who remain - before the reach our shore. One thing is for certain, if this war succedes, it eliminates one Saddam Husain.

While I think that Saddam needs to be removed from power, I also think that there has to be real change. We can't go in there and remove one dictator and replace him with another, just because the new guy is friendlier to the west. This new government needs to be responsive to the people of Iraq, and not perceived as a US puppet.

The question is, will our allies in the region allow such a government to exist?

Please explain to me how Iraq is a threat to America when they have inspectors in the country and the UN breathing down their neck?
