I have no problem running someone off the road and killing them

KillahBee

New member
No problem at all. As a matter of fact, I try to do this without actually hitting someone. Everytime I get stuck behind one of you ignorant, dangerous assholes driving slow in the left lane and refusing to move over (right lane=travel lane) even when I flash my highbeams and whatnot, I pass the car on the right and cut the wheel real hard to the left and try to get within an inch of slamming into said car's front end. One day I hope to force a car off the road and into the guard rail. Mother fuckers are the dangerous ones. You cause accidents. You cause traffic. Not the fast drivers. Shit or get off the pot, assfuck.

How fast is the person going? How fast are you going? What is the speed limit?

Here is how I see it - yes, I am going over the speed limit, BUT, the law states that the left lane is for passing and the right is for traveling. Therefore, if there is someone behind me inthe left lane that is driving faster than me, be it 60 or 100, it is my obligation, and my civic duty, to move the fuck over and let them drive. This keeps traffic moving and avoids accidents involving slow drivers getting in the way of faster ones. It's not like we want to own the road - you have your home (right lane) and we have ours (left lane). Imagine a world where everybody truly understood that the left lane is only for passing...

Yep...if they don't want to go as fast as you, get the fuck out of the way. That's what the left lane is for...passing.

That shit pisses me off too...the people who drive the fastest are usually the safest/best drivers. Of course there are some major exceptions.

My life will end on the road. Gauranteed. Either in a car accident b/c some old fuck wouldn't get out of the way or as a result of me taking my road rage out on the wrong person and getting shot.

LOL...it's that bad in NY? (You ARE from NY, right?) Boston is pretty bad too, especially with this damn big dig going on...people get so confused, even though they announce changes in the traffic flow like months in advance.

I always wished there was some way of contacting the people who drive like shit and telling them what the fuck they're doing wrong, because I'm sure most of them think you're a crazy nut, and they're driving perfectly normal.

A) connecticut. driving the length of CT on 95 towards RI is the worst drive EVER!

B) Boston is ridiculous to drive around, especially if you aren't familiar with it.

C) Funny you should mention the communication thing. A while ago I got so fed up with the assholes that I stated to carry around a dry erase board in my car. I would write things like "Nice blinker, asshole" and "Stay in the right lane" and shit and show it to the people after I flipped out. It was very funny, but I figured it was going to cause an accident and then I would be part of the problem, not the solution.

LOL...that's hilarious! Good idea.

And no need to tell me about the drive on 95, I tell EVERYONE that's the worst drive in the country. First off, it never fucking ends...second, the cops in CT suck monkey balls.

The last time I took that drive, it was 2am and I got a fucking $300 ticket! I left late at night on purpose so I could drive fast and not catch any traffic, basically had the road to myself, except for some trucks...and this asshole cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket.

I threw the thing on the floor, figuring it was like $75 or something, I looked the next day and almost shit myself! If I knew it was $300 at the time, I probably would have gotten arrested.

Here's a thought Mario...

Instead of driving like a fucking idiot with a JATO shoved up your ass (all the while putting everyone else on the road at risk)...try leaving a few minutes earlier.

And if you think the "slow" drivers are the ones who cause accidents, you're completely delusional.

God take pity on the ass of the poor fool who runs me or family/loved ones off the road because they're driving like an idiot, because I sure won't.

Tool.

Driving with the traffic is the safest way to drive. Driving slower than the rest of the traffic clogs up the roads, especially if you're driving slow in the FAST lane.

It's a simple rule, if you're in the fast lane, go fast. If there is someone behind you who wants to go faster than you, move the fuck to the right and let them pass.

Is it that hard to understand?

No, it's not that hard to understand...nor is the concept that there is no need to drive like a fucking idiot doing 20-30 (or more) over the speed limit.

I agree, there's normally no need for someone to be driving excessively slow in the fast lane...but to say that you'd like to KILL someone for holding you up in traffic is beyond moronic.

I've seen first-hand the results of reckless drivers. One of my lifelong friends has been a paramedic/emt for years, and he's seen the same thing. 99.9% of the time when alcohol, drugs, or weather is not a factor in an accident, speed is.

Some day someone you know might wind up falling victim to some brain dead fucktard who was driving like an idiot. See if you still feel the same way then.

heres what i do when there are only two lanes. i 3-4 car distances away from the car to my left or right. when i see a car going fast, they'll usuall go to the lane opposite me to pass me. then speed up and keep pace with the car that i was keeping my distance away from- just to piss off the fast drive ;)

oh and i hate slow drivers too- unless im the one going slow :)

Two of my close friends have died in car accidents...so I know the dangers of bad driving. But driving fast and driving recklessly are two different things.

The fast lane is for 75-80+ minimum, unless there is no one behind you. If you're going 75 and there's someone who wants to go 80 behind you, it's your job to let them pass.

You're not supposed to be IN that lane unless you're passing other drivers, so technically, if you're in that lane with no one in front of you, you're driving illegally. You're supposed to pass people, and get out of the way of the person behind you, then they do the same...it's the unwritten rule...everyone should know it.

Yes there are a lot of ignorant people on the road. It's extremely irritating when someone gets in the left hand lane and won't let you pass.

That is a peeve, but worse, I think, is changing lanes without using blinkers. That one just drives me nuts.

Just like excessively slow drivers disturb the flow of traffic, so do fast drivers. You're no better and most likely worse than the majority by the sounds of things.

And exceeding the speed limit causes way more accidents than going under the speed limit, if you try an argue against this you're just a fuckin tool and don't even deserve a response.

I don't know that that's true honestly. It's definitely true on backroads and in suburbia and whatnot. But I think the situation is different on the highways. True, the majority of the people that GET INTO the accidents are the faster drivers...but I think if each case was looked into, alot of the accidents would be CAUSED by a slow driver. For example, a fast driver trying to switch lanes too fast to get by someone driving slow in the fast lane.

I'm not against driving slow, you just gotta know your role on the highway and stay to the right.

Yes people who mosey along in the passing lane bother me a great deal however it does not make me want to kill them. That seems a little excessive.

You would think that this would be some sort of incentive for you to consider driving more responsibly. Apparently not. And, driving fast and driving recklessly are not 2 different things.

That's interesting. 75-80 minimum, eh? Last time I checked, 80 will get you a ticket just about anywhere. Police will usually give you 5, maybe 10 over, but 15+ gets you an appointment with the judge.

So...the $1.64 question; if the fast lane is intended for 75-80 minimum as you say, then why do you get tickets for doing it?

You're driving illegally??? ROFL! That's rich.

"Honest officer, the traffic law guru on Elite Fitness told me I had to be doing 90!...what do you mean I'm getting a ticket anyways?!?...I'll see you in court, and I'm gonna get Johnny Cochran to defend me!"

C'mon dude, you're smarter than this.

You got it all wrong. If they are going the maximum speed, you are not even allowed to overtake them.

Maybe you need to save your machoism for in the gym.

If you are bothered by the phenomenon maybe you should Try and practise your democratic rights calling for a higher speed limit.

Actually, a friend of mine got pulled over the other day for tailgating. She said the cop said "I would give you a ticket for speeding, but you were just travelling with traffic, so I can't." She ended up getting $100 ticket for tailgaiting, even though she was going 80...because if you're going with traffic, cops won't pull you over.

If everyone on the road is travelling at 80mph, and you're going 65, YOU are the most dangerous person on the road. Ask any cop, or driving instructor you want...they'll all say the same thing.

Driving fast does not equal driving irresponsibly.

If it wasn't for fucks like you who think they're above the law and endanger other people and then preach safety, There'd BE no faster and slower drivers. People would stick the fuck to the speed they're supposed to go.

hahah! I am too busy to get into with you, guy. What I will say is this- I am not above the law and realize that any time I drive fast I deserve a ticket. HOWEVER, it is the law that the left lane is the passing lane. It is not my fault that they don't hand tickets out for this. They should. IMO people that disobey this law are the most dangerous people on the road (other than the drunk drivers and whatnot). ANd my original rant was about these assholes not moving out ofthe way for traffic.

so if everybody is doing it then it's no longer breaking the law? that doesn't make much sense. i imagine he was well within the law to write her a ticket for speeding but chose not too.

Actually didn't they pass a law this past january saying that the left lane is passing only and you're not allowed to be in it unless passing? If that's true, which I'll look into it, you would indeed be driving illegally by holding up the left lane.

Yeah, and another point, when people pull out on the right side of the road in front of me from a side road, I tend to speed up, just to emphasize the point that if they are going to pull out in front when they're's cars coming, they better be moving fast. Especially if they are turning left, I like for them to see me speeding up.

Oh...I was just saying that as long as your flowing with traffic, and not blowing by everyone/weaving through...they won't pull you over or ticket you.

What you mean "unwritten," paleface? There are big signs at the NY/NJ border telling you "Keep right except to pass."

That does not mean you get to go 90, of course.

I don't live on the ny/nj border, guy...so I haven't seen that sign.

You don't get it. You are not allowed to pass the guy who is doing the maximum speed. Therefor it is no crime he is not allowing you to.

I realize that. BUT, we do not live in a perfect world where the law is obeyed as it is written. Most "unspoken" social laws are more prevalent and more respected in this country than written law. If we are strictly talking avoiding accidents, as I originally meant, the person in the left lane who won't let another pass is a very, very dangerous driver.

LOL at this thread.

People going the speed limit in the left lane are annoying as fuck. But what can we do? Just move around them.

Now the people going BELOW the speedlimit in the "fast lane" truly deserve to die, they clog up traffic/increase the chances of accidents.

Remember fellow speeders, Valentine 1 is your best friend.

Sure. But YOU are the original problem.

If going the max speed to you is classified as slow I hope they give you do many tickets you get evicted for lack of funds.

I don't know where you live buddy, but around me (Northeast, RT. 95), driving 65 on the highway is slow compared to how fast everyone else drives. And I would have to get a lot of tickets to "get evicted for lack of funds", since I have a pretty good job. :) Maybe you should become a cop and hunt me down for going over 65. I must be the only one (which doesn't make it right, before you even start that shit).

LOL...there's a point in my town where the speed limit is 20mph...do you think that's fast or slow?

And no, it's not a dangerous curve or anything...just a straight road...not heavily populated.

LMAO @ hs lifter.

you gonna keep bringing that up now?

My parents have a faster car and I live at home (move out after summer to hit uni)

btw it can do 90. no mods either. Practically any car can do 90.

In Europe we actually get to drive some quicker legally.

I understand you think that speed limits in the USA are totally gay. then change them. dont break them.

too much to fuckin read about idotic drivers. If you drive fast fine, if not fine. The fast ones should be patient and not tailgate. the light blinkers are morones. If I was in the fast lane driving over speed limit and some idiot behind me blinked her lights, i would roll down window and give finger. Idiotic drivers cause accidents

-The very idea that you must obey laws just because they are laws is very irrational.

- you can't change laws so easily.

- If you can drive at a much higher speed while maintaining control there is no good reason not to.

not irrational when they keep on increasing the fine for speeding. ive been pulled over for speeding seven times. only three times did i get a ticket- and not for speeding. wtf?

I dont buy the speed is the number 1 cause of accidents at all,its untrained drivers,my girlfriend went and took driving school 500$ and drives like shit,I have never taken official training, but driven for the longest time as I have family in the country and I come from a family of truckers,I learned road courtesy and such early

I drive fast but I know 100% in my mind that Im safer doing my 130km then buddy doing 80km in the fast lane

Wrong answer Junior.

Speed IS a factor in most accidents.

It boils down to reaction time, stopping distances, and the ability to maintain control of a car. (and don't give me this shit about being a superior driver...most people can't drive 1/2 as well as they think they can, even those with 20+ years behind the wheel. I'm not even going to get into how bad the av'g teenage drivers are)

Think about this for a minute...this is a bit of an extreme example, but it appears that's what it's going to take to get the point across.

Scenario #1) You're driving through a residential neighborhood at say...20 mph. Suddenly, about 50' in front of you, a kid runs out from between 2 parked cars chasing a ball. You might have time to react and get stopped before you splatter this kid. At 20 mph, you're traveling 29.33' per second...that gives you less than 2 seconds to react, and that's IF you're paying attention..

Scenario #2) You're clipping along the highway at 80 mph, and suddenly, 50' in front of you, a deer runs across the highway. At 80 mph, you're traveling 117.33' per second. You do the math. You have less than 1 second to react. Even the best exotic sports cars (Corvette, Porsche, et.al.) have stopping distances of 110' or so from 60-0. At 80 mph, you can tack on at least another 50' to that number, probably more. The av'g family sedan can't even come close to those stopping numbers, not to mention handling.

Here's a hint...I've spent my entire life working on and around various forms of racing and high performance cars...I know the numbers, I know the physics, and I know that even the best drivers can't get themselves out of every possible situation 100% of the time, let alone the av'g brain-dead moron behind the wheel on the highway.

I know this thread isn't about deers or kids (I'm just using those as examples)...it's about what happens at speed and ones ability (or lack thereof) to react to avoid problems at speed.

So, this entire "fast drivers are better/safer drivers" argument has just been blown out of the water.

`Nuff said.

Class is over for the day. Drive safe.

Only read the first half of this thread. I try to be careful whether going slow or fast, I do what I can.

If every body obeyed the speed limits exactly, there would be traffic jams all over the place. When a posted limit is 55 that means the minimum is 40-45? not sure. If cars are going 40 -55 on the highways, lol there would be SEVERE problems IMO.

Also on the side roads of 25 MPH limits. Try going 15-25 MPH and see how slow that actually is. Imagine people driving 17 MPH ALL OVER the city streets? Try that with 50,000 cars and see what happens. I think speed limits are expected to be broken. They just conveniently ticket those people who do it exessively.
