I have discovered that the desire to be at work and be productive is greatly diminished when you know your days are numbered.

I've been here a full day I think 2 out of the last 10 days, but now I'm running out of excuses to leave early. Hopefully I'll start interviewing here soon, and I'll have more reason to be outta here.

This just gets old...there's nothing going on, everyone avoids talking to me because they don't know what to say, and it's hard to keep myself entertained for a full 8 hours.

I need to come up with ways to keep myself entertained here.

Darktooth, I'm an IT manager. Normally, I have no trouble keeping busy, but all I have to do at this point is busy work and transition prep stuff. It blows.

Imnotdutch, I was notified that effective June 1, my position here is being eliminated. I've started the job hunt with the hope that I can engineer a job transition around that date because there's a significant retention bonus if I stay that long.

I've given two weeks notice before, and noticed it then, but that was mostly because I was excited about starting a new job.

Now, I just don't give a shit about getting anything done, and couldn't care less about being here.

This'll make things interesting if one of my subordinates decides to leave, and I have a chance to stay.

I'm on it, mang. I have about 3 days of personal time left to use before June 1, and I have no doubt I'll burn the last of my vacation time too.

I suppose if all else fails, I'll just get a couple roommates, divide all my bills in half, and let them each pay half.

Well, since I'm an LPN, the market for my desired position will never run dry. Registered Nurses and LPN's are in great demand right now, and are foreseen to be so for decades and decades to come. The only problem is that I work at a private nursing home, and I get sick of forcing medication down peoples' throats, such as this one 90 year old guy who thinks that I'm trying to make him swallow a tracking device into his body. He doesn't say why, or whose after him, all he's says is that I'm trying to make him swallow a tracking device. Now he's a pain in the ass, but changing adult diapers, and watching people piss their pants right in front of my face also is not enjoyable. But at least we have CNA's (Certified Nurse's Aide) whose job it is to clean up the shit and bathe these people. I just administer injections and medications. And the R.N. who supervises me and the other LPN's tells me what to do, so SHE is the one responsible if things go amcuk.
