I have decided to retire from the world's finest fighting organization, Thee United States Marine Corps. I joined when I was 17, 20 Feb 1981. I have seen the world 5 times over, been to 17 different countries, participated in 3 separate engagements, and Loved every minute of it! I have asked my family to move 5 different occasions, and now feel that I owe it to them to have their Dad and my wife's husband around for awhile I have 5 boys and a daughter, My greatest supporter is my wife, who I adore and admire, because in truth she has had the toughest job of all, raising my children to the outstanding individuals that they are. This choice is bittersweet, my love for the Corps, and this Corp of Marines is immeasurable, God, country Corps. Has been my motto. But I feel it's time to be around to help with my family. God, family, Country, Corps is my new battle cry. I will be "retired on 30 September, 2002. 21 years, 7 months, 10 days of some of the greatest days of my life.
To my wife, you will never know how much I love you. If you live to be a 100, I want to live to be 100 minus one day, so I do not have to live without you. (From my daughters favorite whinny the pooh book). To those that serve in our Corps, SEMPER FI. To those about to serve, Godspeed and Semper Fidelis! To my children, never will I have to explain why Daddy is leaving, and might not return. I will always love you and care for you. Thank you for the vent, and the bittersweet tears...
