My brand new truck I got about a month and a half ago has been in the shop for the last 2 weeks. It has 1800 miles on it and is getting a new motor. It has a tick/knock coming from it that they are unable to locate. They've had every top engineer from Ford there to look at it and still couldn't figure it out, so I get a new motor.

I will bet money that the knocking noise is coming from the tranny......


What do you think are the chances of getting an extended warranty from Ford, as well as a rebate tht just came out that I missed?

Sorry to hear that bro , now that u got it I'm rootin for ya... no point in moanin at this stage. I think that you should have a fair shot at getting some decent compensation tho.. certainly an engine/transmission of that size shouldn't be giving trouble within the next 10 years unless you were "riding the clutch" CONSTANTLY. Good luck whatever.
 
That sucks bro. If you spend that kind of money, you expect to not have any problems until at least a day after the warranty runs out.

FORD should try to build cars and trucks in an intelligent manner rather than a tough one, ala the commercials, maybe the pieces of shit would run longer then.

I really like the truck. I have had so many people stop me and want to look at it. It rides great....I love the interior....just bummed that I spend 37K on a vehicle and it is in the shop. My problem is isolated and not common with this truck. There really haven't been any re-occuring problems reported.

I'm pissed at the customer service at Ford. They aren't going to do shit for me. I'm pretty laid back and not one to get an attitude or upset on the phone....I think I will be calling back alot more hostile.....I first am going to call my sales guy.


And Toyota's look like a Heather Darling Ass.....IMO.

beastboy, I'd keep going up the chain until you get a satisfactory answer.

I'd be pushing for a new truck, and the rebates.
 
A little OT but did they give you a loaner car for the 2 weeks so far?

I think they can leave it as it is - "Have you driven a Ford lately?" - they should just make it more clear that the answer is "No" even if you own one.
 
Y.....EVeryone I know with a GMC has tranny problems.......not that my problem is better....I actually liked GMC more prior tot he '04 F150 coming out.

I will not own a foreign truck.....car...maybe....truck...no way. And I will never not own a truck.
