I'm 35 yo, and still love to read the Little House on the Prairie books!!

I'm fascinated by "covered wagon" history....which led me to pursue my interest in canning/preserving..... and I'm constantly looking on the 'net for info......

;)

I loved that show growing up. I named my cat Half-pint after Laura in the second grade. lol

:kitty:

Yeah, me too.........although I like the books better.....plus researching the "true" story via the Internet, etc.....

I watched way too many of those episodes. Cripes, I remember one year they ran 3 episodes in a row between all the cable channels we had. No wonder I was a chubby kid. The books (& the original episodes) were good. After a while, I'm afraid Michael Landon got the story lines just a little too sappy to deal w/.

That's perfectly acceptable! If they were at my my house instead of my mom's I'd probably ready them too. I loved those books growing up. I can't tell you how many times I've read them-- and since I live in MN I think of them often when I'm by a place from the books (like Lake Peppin). ;)

That is so cool that you live by there!! It's neat to know that these places really exist......

I'm 26 and I read the entire series at least once every 6 months!!! I love those books, my husband gives me a lot of shit for it but I tell him at least I can read:)

Lake Peppin is beautiful...and when I see it I always think I'm a total dork for thinking about Laura taking the rocks out of it. lol

I hope I have a little girl someday and I can read them to her. There are so many books I'd love to read to my future kids!

Is Lake Pepin in Wisconsin or between Wisconsin & Minnesota?

don't feel like a dork -- I would think the same things...... Plus Amazon.com has all sorts of books about her -- I may have to buy a few.......

I found out too, researching that LH in the Big Woods actually was their 2nd time living there & LH on the Prairie happened before the Big Woods book & was written thru the memories of Ma, Pa & Mary as Laura was only about 1 during that time.....
