I hate St Patrick's Day.

It's just an excuse for people to get stupid drunk all day and act like idiots. If you want to celebrate the life of St. Patrick, the man who helped spread Christianity though Ireland, then you should do it in a dignified way. If you want an excuse to get stark raving drunk, then there are 2 excuses every week, Firday and Saturday night.

I think I just hate large groups of drunken people acting like freshman with their first beer. Especially when they grow beer muscles and loud mouths.

I like to drink and have fun as much as anyone else. But when did a blood alcohol level of .20 become mandatory for "fun"?

I alway enjoy seeing the midgets dressed up in Green working the bars. You want to eliminate a source of midget income? You want the midgets to go without don't you? You need to be kicked in the shins buddy!!!

It's not mandatory, but it sure does help loosen me up a bit.....

Now that I know you're pushing 30, this post makes perfect sense.

Alright Mr. Crabbapple, let me ask you this: would you have written this thread, say, five years ago?

Absolutely.

Like I said, I like to go out occasionally and drink. But I hate large crowds of drunk people that use alcohol as an excuse to act like kids.

I prefer to just stand in my front yard with a cooler and a couple of buddies and talk about life. Ain't that right Hank?

Fro, take the stick out of your hiney....St. Patrick's Day is funnn, if people want to get completely inebriated let them...you can stay home and befriend your Vaseline....:D :D

So Frorider6 I suspose I can stratch you off my Paddy's day party list. Oh ya, we get a huge kick out of American tourists on Paddy's day trying to be Irish for a day. But it's all good FUN !!!.

I'll be going out. I just hope some drunk doesn't want to flex his "beer muscles" because I won't be drinking that much.

For Irish families, it's more than just a day to get drunk. Drinking is frowned upon in my family, even as my great grandparents came from Ireland 100 years ago. It is a time for my family to get together just like Christmas, and just be together with family.

There's nothing wrong with having an official excuse to celebrate, even if it is just to get drunk.

I think it's pretty retarded for non-Catholic non-Irish Americans to get worked up over it.

its only an excuse to celebrate, the fun is when I see blacks celebrating Saint Paddy's, or arab or even hindus, eh they wanna bleed green for a day and drink beers, why not.

Saint-Paddy's day mean the biggest Parade in North America, 2nd to Ireland
and the oldest too here in Mtl, and thats mean ALOOOOOOOOOT of politics and brunches
and bull shit with Canadian authorities.

Well said, why the fuck does everyone think that they are Irish on St Patricks Day, and why the fuck would you want to be?? It pisses me off that all my friends want to go out celebrating St Patricks Day, yet they don't even know when St Georges Day is.
I'm not Irish, i don't give a shit about St Patricks Day, i don't go out on St Patricks Day on principle now.

Stu.

p.s. I don't have a problem with the Irish, just the twats that are not Irish yet celebrate St Patrick's Day anyway. That's akin to me celebrating Independance Day (i'm English).

p.p.s Why the fuck do Americans who claim to be Irish (based on their grandfather once meeting an Irishman in a bar one time and drinking a pint of guiness, or some such tenuous link) bleat on about crushing terrorism and how terrible terrorism is and yet insist on funding various terrorist organisations in Northern Ireland?????????? WTF??????
