i HATE glasses

SoKlueles

I love Mava
Platinum
I wear contacts when im out and about and at work. I dont want real people to see me in them, but u guys dont seem to mind
anyway, im cooking spaghetti and they keep fogging up
sighhhhhh anyone else wear glasses and contacts?

One time, Bangsheel was acting up, so I broke off my left stem and shanked him in the eye. I had to go to Lens Outfitters to get a new one, but it was worth it.

Glasses, stabbing and seeing is believing.

What are you doing posting this shit in the Gonelifting forum? Huh?

Yeah I do the same damn thing, lol. Sometimes it's funny though, b/c I have a really high metabolism and I'm usually pretty hot, when I put my glasses on they'll fog up just from my body temp. Takes a few minutes before they warm up and defog, and I'm blind while I wait.

The worst is trying to drive at night and you forgot your glasses...

I hate pine trees but I've kissed a few in the past

Used to wear contacts, but got laser eye surgery and now wear glasses and can't wear contacts anymore. Go figure. lol

My wife wears both.

I can no longer wear contacts due to a previous eye infection.....so I wear glasses....

I want some new glasses..... something different....

Id love to get that laser eye surgery but due to circumstances i cant
but my friend got it done and she loves it

love contacts. i wear glasses when i get up in the morning up until i take a shower. then i put contacts in.

i'll wear glasses when laying in bed at night watching TV. 20 damn years of those things was enough motivation to get me back to wearing contacts.

I wear gas permeable contacts, but have glasses as a back up. I also tried wearing new contacts that are made out of stuff similar to the gas perms but are custom designed to a topographical map of your eye. You sleep in them and when you wake up, your eye has been temporarily reformed to the shape of the contact such that you have improved / good vision until the end of the day when your eye starts relaxing and goes back to its natural unformed shape. Sorta kewl, but one of the lenses wasnt' fit exactly so I got raging headaches from it.

seriously. and considering how little stimulation she says Hammy takes to reach orgasim, you'd think she'd like wearing glasses as a form of splash gaurd.

I wore glasses/contacs for over 20 years. I finally got tired of them and decided to get the lasik surgery done, and now I can see. :eyes: :)

My wife wears both.

After laser surgery you still need to wear glasses !?

The laser surgery was the best thing to do. I wore contacts and caught pink eye from them twice. This prompted the surgery.

Yes, much smaller script, but yes. Sucks! Can't even wear contacts anymore.

I don't wanna bring down the surgery though, because a lot of people have had very good success with it. I had very bad eyesight to begin with.

when you get in your 40s you will need to wear reading glasses after lasik

so lasik won't free you from glasses/contacts for life then? fuck that shit, i'd rather wear contacts than have to wear glasses when i hit my 40s and not be able to wear contacts. the whole point of lasik is to eliminate the need for glasses/contacts.

You better talk to a doc before making a decision. I've heard nothing but good stuff about it.

such is life, ideally lasik gets a very near sighted person farsighted, people that have this done are usually younger in age (30 and under), once you get around 42 most people lose the ability to adjust their eyes to close up reading, its an age thing, those little "reader cheaters" are quite popular in drug stores and grocery stores, some people even go the route of having a reading contact in one eye only and their other eye they use for looking far away

I wear soft contact lenses (daily disposable ones) no hassle with cleaning or soaking.

When I do give my eyes a rest from contact lenses on the weekends I wear glasses and they suck - they give me all kinds of spinning waves.

Without my contact lenses I am totally blind, frail and exposed to being exploited.

Lasik generally works well for near-sighted people who are not ragingly near-sighted. Two people I know have had to go and get a 2nd surgery done to correct problems w/ night vision.

For the reason that lasik will correct your vision at the time you get it, but cannot do anything to address the inevitable aging of your eyes (thus the reading glasses after 40-ish), I prefer my contacts. I wear them every day, all day, scuba diving, in the gym, during sex, whatever. Just not during a dust storm, working w/ a power sander or table saw and I don't sleep in them.

My brother is an optomotrist and a large part of his practice is dealing w/ people who have had bad lasik surgeries. That scares the crap out of me. They have commoditized the procedure so much that it just becomes the standard "fix it" for glasses. I would do whole hell of a lot of research before getting it done, get several evaluations and do a thorough check of the guy I chose to do it first.

How does one go about finding a doctor to "fix" a laser surgery? I've had mine done by a good doctor but he said it could'nt be corrected anymore. I would like a second opinion.

BTW I got the "lifetime" corrections with this place. If I ever needed another correction, I would get it for free. I went in to get it done again and they told me "Can't do it, because my eyes were not qualified anymore." lol WTF? I believe them (one of the guys is my doc and he's very good) but I STILL want a second opinion from these "fix the earlier surgery" Docs.

I'm in NJ if anyone knows of a reputable place to look into. I especially like the "Fix the nighvision" thing. OMG I can't even drive at night now. That would be awesome!

no fixes, just the enhancements like you were talking about, i sure wouldnt want to have too many of those

In those cases where they over / under correct, it can affect your night vision - not sure what you do about that. Or sometimes you still end up wearing glasses. Listen some of these places that do lasik line people up like cars on a conveyor belt to get them through and everyone thinks its the ultimate. It is for most people, but you are still f'ing w/ your eyes and its not 100% perfect. I think recently they even downgraded the requirement to do the surgery from doctor to technician.

Do doctors identify themselves a certain way when doing "adjustments"? How can you tell they're a DR. that can "fix/adjust" your eyes and not just another Laser guy? What do they call themselves? lol Not "Shirley" I hope! Ha.

huh?

I dont' really understand your question but I think the point is that not all people who do LASIK are fully trained eye doctors. They might be more on the laser-expert side. And if the procedure has complications, then you need to move to alternate ways to correct, including glasses, contacts, etc. This is when you go see the eye doctor.

"On channel 4 tonight... Dr. EYEDO, he is THE DR. to go to for corrections of laser surgery..."

How do you know HE is the Dr. to go to? Do you ASK him? lol Of course he''l say "Yes, I'm your man."

Are there places called "WE FIX WHAT OTHER DRs MESSED UP"? or Do you just have to go around and interview 20 Drs. and hopefully get ONE that you can trust with your eyes again?

Are there specialists of these specialists? Like the best of the best... I guess?

A responsible doc doing a lasik procedure will most likely be able to refer you to someone who is a general eye doctor to deal w/ any problems that can no longer be corrected by with the specific lasik technology. If further invasive surgery or something specific is needed beyond what that doc is equipped for, you would further be referred to a specialist. Like I said - you're dealing w/ your EYES. Just because a guy can run a lasik laser doesn't mean he can handle all the various problems that might show themselves.

gl its like anything else you have to ask around for recomendations, i would definately go to one with the latest equipment and one that has years of experience

Thanks bros (ettes). Good to know SOMETHING may be out there.
