well i installed a brand new fule pressure regulator in my 89 mustang gt. started the car up, ran fine for a bit then wooooooofffffff the engine caught fire and now the entire car is burnt to the ground. well come to find out the regulator was faulty and was pissing fuel out of the adjusting screw on top. the engine was hot and bam, we have fire. can i sue discount autoparts for the faulty part? the engine was brand new, from them as well. but the fuel pressure regulator is what fucked up. its installed perfect. when we put the fire out the fuel was still dribbling out the top of the regulator screw. i am having a shitty week

if it wasn't "professionally" installed by a licensed mechanic I think you're SOL...unless the product has a very generous warranty

even if they inspect the damage and see the part is installed correctly but the part malfunctioned??? thats the difference, the part fucked up on its own not from the install.
