I got some really bad news yesterday guys...

In early October, during week 11 of my cycle, I started to get some marked swelling of my ankles and feet. I was doing 100mg/Prop/E3D and 100mg/Winstrol/ED. I was planning on running this cycle for 16-20 weeks... I had all the drugs to do it, I was loving the results, but I had NEVER suffered from swelling like that before... this was my 5th cycle since May 1999. So I ceased the cycle in week 11 and began post-cycle ancilliaries.

The swelling did not go away, infact it became worse. I went to my Doctor on Monday... he looked at it and was floored by the amount of swelling I had. He said "I've never seen peripheral edema that bad before, especially in a young guy." He told me that this was an indicator of Liver and/or Kidney dysfunction and promptly sent me to have by blood work-up done.

He called me the next day, I didn't get in to see him till yesterday. He told me that my Liver values were indicative of "someone in the late stages of Liver failure." He followed that statement with another shocking one... "You're dying right now and you'll most likely need a Liver transplant." He refered me to a Liver specialist... he prioritized it, so I'm going to his office for and ultra-sound on Monday. I've got a Biopsy scheduled for the following week.

I told my GF that afternoon at the gym... she was crushed, I feel awful for putting her through this. Last night, she asked me if I've ever used AAS, I told her the truth. How the fuck am I going to explain this to my parents?

Fuck, this must be a real hard time for you bro. Hope everything works out for you. Always sad to hear of situations like this. What did your other cycles look like btw? At least to let others know as an example.

I will pray for you and your family brother. I hope that everything comes through for you and you get the transplant needed!

barnes3:bawling:

holy shit. may as well tell your parents the truth.....they will be pissed over what you did to get yourself in this condition for all of a few hours, then of course they will do all they can to help. that is just how it is with parents....at least the good ones. good luck. :(

Your a good bro scotty, and I know you'll get through this tough time. I wish you the best of luck, stay strong bro
peace

JC

Bro, that really is a shame. I don't know what to say, as I'm not a religious guy or anything, but I hope everything goes well. I'd hate to think that is from AAS use, but who knows. I have been on for almost 3 years straight with no problems, but everyone is different. Good luck.

And I really wouldn't worry about what your parents think at this point. You are way passed that now. Your immediate health takes first priority before parental judgement. Maybe you are closer to your Parents than I, but if my Parents gave me a 'tude about something like that, when my life is/was on the line, I'd tell them to fuck off.

Peace bro.

My first 2 cycels were 12 week Sus only ones... 1st: 250mg/EW 2nd: 250mg/E5D. My third cycle was Sus/Deca... around the same a/m dosages. The fourth I got stupid... did a whack of AAS. 3 weeks of Drol, a few months of Test, month of Winstrol V, etc. I typically steered clear of 17AA's: D-ball gave me acne, Drol turned me into a mad man.

My 5th cycle, which was my last, Week 1-8: Eq(500mgweek)/Test(500mgweek). Week 9-11: Winstrol/100mg ED and Test Prop 100mg/E3D.

Oh yeah, as far as alcohol abuse goes... compared to my peers(I'm a University student), I consider myself to be a light drinker. I maybe get smashed 3 times/semester.

this sounds ruff bro. keep your head up and good luck. on another note, since you can't use what is left.......you might as well send it my way:D

i know you were just kidding but that is very bad taste bro.

scotty, does anything like this run in your family? are you a big drinker? from what your cycles looked like, they aren't the cause. this really makes me sad. i will pray for ya my brother. pm me if you need to get anything of your chest.:(

Wow. Like everyone else I'm sorry for you...

A question, though - did you ever get bloodwork done? I have, and my results pre-cycle were pretty good (I almost never drink) but I'm also currently on winny and prop (and fina) and your post has me worried...

Thanks.

Is that your idea of levity man?? What Bouncer said.

Ever have liver function blood tests prior to running AAS? 5 cycles in 3 years, with very little liver toxic orals should NOT equal liver disease and especially liver failure! Also the swollen ankles symptom is VERY typical in Hepatitis - just wondering if you may have had Hep. and not known before starting the AAS

Did Dr. give you test results, maybe you could post them for review.

Best of luck in your journey back to good health!

I hope the doctor is wrong and there is a good chance that it's not as bad as he makes it out to be. Long story short. My neighbor's neighbor got sick and went to the hospital and the doctor diagnosed him with cancer. How he diagnosed him so quick with cancer, I don't know. But after a few check-ups no signs of cancer and he is doing ok. Let's hope the doctor is wrong and I hope you are in good health soon. Also don't blame yourself. How were you supposed to know? Is it the steroids alone that caused it?

i was gonna say the same thing. it doesnt sound like juice is what caused this...any preexisting tendencies in your family? best of luck to you bro, with a positive outlook you can get through it.

I gotta say- I am not an anti-AAs'er as I am planning my 1st cycle for the future.

However, Five cycles at low doses might not be serious for some of you fellas, but for someone with pre-existing condiitons or weak vital organs, can be fatal..... I am not saying anyone is right or wrong, since no one knows what happened- But since we all like to think they are safer than they are, saying "they aren't the cause" is a little premature and, Because they sure as shit could have been.

Either way, I feel for you man, and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.... And if you dont mind me asking, how old are you??

Good luck
A/C

Actually, I could understand if this is juice related. They were pretty long cycles... whether that affects liver toxicity I do not know.

Good luck, I hope you get the transplant.

apologies for the remark, but who the hell are either of you to judge me. if it offended scotty, i sincerely apologize. just trying to make light on a very bad situation. either way, good luck scotty and i will pray for you.

Hang in there. Your cycle history isn't that extensive, but it can't be ruled out as a contributing factor to some thing else (Hepatitis). If something doesn't seem right with the diagnosis, then get a second opinion. Remain positive and you'll come out fine! My prayers are with you.

not judging ya bro, just saying it is not the time and place for that remark. anyways, lets not turn this into a flame war. peace bro.:)

I will pray for you... you will be just fine... you are not gonna die and thank God for being young. You will recover from it fast... just take it easy on yourself, alright?...

Damn:( I haven't been around the boards much lately...and I come back to this. Best of luck scotty! Please let us know how it turns out. Hopefully when this is all said and done, the Iron God's callused hands will have picked you up and set you back on your feet. Stay Strong Bro!!:)

I'm so sorry to hear that bro. Hang tough and you'll pull through this, my email is open to you if you need to discuss ANYTHING. Don't be a stranger, goodluck bro I will pray for you.

I am going to be praying for you scotty. I think right now would be a good time for you to get out your bible, read, pray and talk to Jesus. There isn't anything too bad for God to fix, and if you have faith it can happen. Read Psalms.

BROS STOP BEING NIEVE. Juice could have very well caused this. Everyone reacts differently. And if juice did not cause this (which it probably did not) it PROBABLY contributed to a pre-existing condition. This just goes to show HAVE your liver values checked B4 a cycle. (I also fail in this area)

As for Scotty my prayers are with you. Good luck and keep training (for me it is what balances life out) Never give up hope miracles happen everyday. If you need anything hollar.

If you could post the test results of the enzymes, that would be cool. However, I really want to say i'm sorry for you, your girl, and family. I'd start on some r-ALA if you could.

I just want to mention, and this may or may not be the case, some doctors can really exaggerate this stuff. Maybe get a second opinion from a different doctor.

My prayers go out to you bro!!!

BMJ

Fuck bro, I'm sorry to hear that. I think this is every bodybuilders nightmare. I hope it all works out for you. Be honest with your parents and family and they'll help you through it all. My prayers go out to you. :ryanh:

Really sorry to hear about your tragedy bro. All of us are with you and i sincerely hope your'e back in the gym at no time. Keep fighting and never lose heart. It'll be ok.

Very True !!!

I know your mind is racing right now, and you're imagining the worst, but you need to wait until you see the specialist before you jump to any conclusions.

On March 1 of this year an emergency room doctor felt like she could diagnose me from some tests that they ran on me. I was told that it looked like I had Transitional Cell Carcinoma (a form of cancer). She told me I needed a referral from my Primary Care Physision so that I could see a specialist.

Well, I got jerked around for almost a week before getting the referral because my doc wasn't in the office for a few days. From what I now understand, the doc who writes the referral gets $$ from the insurance co. So, for days I'm trying to go through the motions of acting normal around everyone while thinking that I'm really fucked. All I could think about was how I was gonna break the news to my parents, sister, and my closest friends and how it was gonna hurt them. Also kept thinking of all the things that I might never get a chance to do.

Finally on March 7th I got to see the specialist. He said that he really doubted that it was cancer, and that he wanted to do his own tests. A week later he went inside to see what was going on. Guess what --- No Cancer !!!

Listen to me. As hard as this may be, don't drive yourself crazy. Keep yourself busy this weekend. Don't just sit around thinking about this. Talk to the specialist on Monday and see what he says. His diagnosis is the one that counts. Not your regular doctor.

I still have to have surgery sometime next year when I have medical coverage again (employer went bankrupt while this was happening). There is a problem between my kidney and bladder that needs to be corrected before more damage is done to one of my kidneys. Luckily, I'm not gonna lose the kidney. Although, due to years of infection after infection (never had any symptoms), it now only functions at about 20%. The other one is fine by the way.

The specialist I have is cool as hell. He explained everything to me in simple terms that I could understand. He also answers any questions that I have. When you deal with the liver specialist that you're gonna see, I'd be really suprised if he isn't the same way. So, once again, stay calm and be patient. No amount of worrying is gonna make your situation any better.

Let us know how you're doing as this works itself out. My prayers are with you, and I know you're gonna be ok !!!!

You fucking piece of shit.

Good luck scotty....

keep your head up!

Before I opened this link I'm thinking this is probably about someone who's source went scammer or some silly shit like that(although it has happened to me). Scotty, this is the real deal. Real life shit. Keep your head up. None of us sitting behind these computers can tell you if the juice caused this or not. Even if it did don't beat yourself up bro. We don't do this to hurt ourselves, Most of us do it beacause we like the look, how the pumps feel or in my case because I would rather spend hard earned money on something that works as oposed to 99% of supps that are garbage.OH yeah and the other 2 reasons. All I'm saying is you've got some good advice from some of these bros. Don't panick and don't obsess over it. Wait till you see your doc and be completely honest with him. COMPLETELY. THIS IS YOUR LIFE YOUR TALKING ABOUT. I'll keep you in my prayers.

This happened to one of my friends who was 19 .He had hep b prior to doing roids all he did was winstrol and dbol.He felt ill and was diagnosed with liver failure .The specialist said he needed a transplant. They had a donor ready but the docs wanted to do the transplant when the liver failed totally but while in the hospital when he was given lots of meds and liquid he recovered .He has since sworn of roid and the doc said he managed to recover this time cos he was young.SO pray hard and stay strong bro.

I had peripheral edema during my last and went to a doc and cardiologist and everyhting checked out.....I hope everything works out for you and you get the treatment you need.....I wold bet this is not from AAS use but I'm sure you know it will be difficult to convince those that are not educated that is the case....best of luck....

Good luck bro

I know of another Irish bro who ran six month long cycles of over 1g/wk , drank and got wrecked too while on cycle and although told by many doctors that he had trouble came through and is still goin strong today! So don't worry too much , we Celts are madmen at heart!

I told my GF that afternoon at the gym... she was crushed, I feel awful for putting her through this. Last night, she asked me if I've ever used AAS, I told her the truth. How the fuck am I going to explain this to my parents?

You must have some balls man, you were told that you are dying, and yet you make it to the gym that afternoon, for a workout I assume. My sincere apoligies if I'm wrong but something in your story doesn't add up. Swelling in the feet and ankels is more indicative of left ventricle failure than liver failure. In most cases of liver failure that I have seen, you are swollen in the abdomen. Your a young man yet, we are to believe that a few cycles of gear has destroyed your liver.

Scotty, I am pretty new to the board so you will not have heard from me before.......keep you chin up bro.
All the best.

Full blown liver failure doesn't come from a few cycles if your liver is healthy to begin with. There is no reason to speculate and drive yourself into an even deeper depression. You are going to a specialist so wait to see what he says. While liver values are a poor indication of the condition of your liver you still need to check it out because of the swelling.
This is not a pitch I will send it to you free but you need to start taking r-ALA. Many times this condition can be reversed by it.

A conservative triple antioxidant approach to the treatment of hepatitis C. Combination of alpha lipoic acid (thioctic acid), silymarin, and selenium: three case histories.

Berkson BM.

Integrative Medical Center of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, USA. [email protected]

BACKGROUND: There has been an increase in the number of adults seeking liver transplantation for hepatitis C in the last few years and the count is going up rapidly. There is no reliable and effective therapy for chronic hepatitis C since interferon and antivirals work no more than 30% of the time, and liver transplant surgery is uncertain and tentative over the long run. This is because, ultimately, residual hepatitis C viremia infects the new liver. Furthermore, liver transplantation can be painful, disabling and extremely costly. TREATMENT PROGRAM: The author describes a low cost and efficacious treatment program in 3 patients with cirrhosis, portal hypertension and esophageal varices secondary to chronic hepatitis C infection. This effective and conservative regimen combines 3 potent antioxidants (alpha-lipoic acid [thioctic acid], silymarin, and selenium) that possess antiviral, free radical quenching and immune boosting qualities. CONCLUSION: There are no remarkably effective treatments for chronic hepatitis C in general use. Interferon and antivirals have less than a 30% response rate and because of the residual viremia, a newly transplanted liver usually becomes infected again. The triple antioxidant combination of alpha-lipoic acid, silymarin and selenium was chosen for a conservative treatment of hepatitis C because these substances protect the liver from free radical damage, increase the levels of other fundamental antioxidants, and interfere with viral proliferation. The 3 patients presented in this paper followed the triple antioxidant program and recovered quickly and their laboratory values remarkably improved. Furthermore, liver transplantation was avoided and the patients are back at work, carrying out their normal activities, and feeling healthy. The author offers a more conservative approach to the treatment of hepatitis C, that is exceedingly less expensive. One year of the triple antioxidant therapy described in this paper costs less than $2,000, as compared to more than $300,000 a year for liver transplant surgery. It appears reasonable, that prior to liver transplant surgery evaluation, or during the transplant evaluation process, the conservative triple antioxidant treatment approach should be considered. . If these is a significant betterment in the patient's condition, liver transplant surgery may be avoided.

Damn Scotty, sorry to hear of your troubles. I see a lot of people asking about cycles and your drinking habbits etc trying to determine the underlying cause of you condition. Have you had blood work done since you started cycling or before? Liver problems can manifest themselves for many reasons, for example, my mother passed away a year and a half ago due to liver failure which was supposedly because of hemochromotosis (ie high iron levels) and we were told this could be hereditary. I have had full works before and the only thing elevated was protein levels (hehe, imagine that right). Anyway, whats your going through is horrible and I dont want to jump on the bandwagon and say it was gear, although im sure the gear didnt help, especially if you are running 22 week cycles.

Holy shit!! REAL sorry to hear that bro. This is the kinda shit
that makes me just wanna give up the drugs. Some will argue
it couldn't have happened from just a few rather light cycles, but
I know it sure didn't help. Good luck to you man! I will be
thinking of you and hoping for nothing but the best!!!!

Hey bro,

If it's any concellation to you, I had a friend that went through complete renal failure a few years back. The doctors said that it was a pre-existing condition, but who know what may have aggravated it.

In any event, he received a liver transplant, he was stuck at home for a few months to recover while on immune suppressing meds.

But now, he's pretty much back to his normal life. Granted there's a few tings he can't do anymore now, and he has to watch what he eats more closely, but other than that, he ended up fine.

I'm sure you'll be alright as well, just keep faith.

I think your doc is exagerrating a bit.

The absolute best thing you can do right now is:

1. Drink 5.0L of PURIFIED water/day
2. 600-1000mg r-ala/day
3. N-acetyl-Cysteine (NAC): 4000mg/day
4. Co-Q10: 200mg/day
5. Tylers 2 tabs 2X/day

I went to University in Glasgow btw, and I know the drill.

If you follow what i told you and DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT ALCOHOL
or NSAIDS, or whatever is processed by the liver and you eat CLEAN, and I do mean CLEAN.

You will recover.

The liver can actually regrow even when 75% of it is dead.
Your kidneys is what I'm worried about.
Get a creatinine/BUN test and lets see about them.

Yepper, the liver is resiliant as hell. They actually do living donor transplants where someone gets half their liver removed and given to someone else. Both livers are often fully regenerated in 6 weeks. To bad the rest of our bodies arent as resiliant huh? Keep positive scotty.

Scotty, No jaundice? Did the doc screeen you for HEP? Ive seen several with mind blowing liver values, heavy edema, and glowing yellow jaundice recover.......Keep your head up......I look optimistacly forward to a second opinion-------Freak

Whatever it is that you have your Doc hes seen some significant damage to your liver......Good luck, God Bless and Stay Positive!

sorry to hear about that bro.
1. Were you on a cycle when they did your blood work?
2. Does your doctor know you juice?

hey bro i usually dont respond to these types of posts but i think this hits close to everyone here, I have a feeling like a few other people here that there was a underlying condition or a atleast some heriditary trates with your liver. A normal liver will take one hell of abeating and bounce back. Even for someone who has been on ad50 for six months and has cysts throughout his liver if you look in a pdr for treatment plans it tells you to simple discontinue use and cysts will go away and liver values will slowly return to normal. So dont beat yourself to death over this you still probally would have had this problem in life, probally just a few years later. My mother had 78% of her liver removed beacause of cancer and it regenerated 100%, at some point in time the doctor her that she wouldnt last anther 6 weeks, fuck that doctor, he actaully had the nerve to call her and tell her that she wasnt out of the woods a few years ago so i had her surgeon wh performed the operation cll hat doc and rip him a newasshole. Now her values are better than mine. Your attitude is what will get you through this, put all doubt aside and tell yourself that you will make it through this, if you trully believe this your chances increase phenominally. raying wouldnt help either but you have to mean what you say and ask for and
believe in it. I hope you actually read this.

Best of luck 2 you bro. The tech is amazing these days, lets all hope for the best. My prayers are with you...

all I can say is that I hope the doc is wrong.

I cant understand why he told you this with out any test. Anyway, hang in there and we will pray for you throughout.

I'm sorry to hear about this situation bro. I am religious and I am praying for you.

From a physical standpoint, ditto on the antioxidants - I'd hit a whole range of them hard and heavy.

From a spiritual and psychological standpoint - the mind transcends the body. I believe you have a powerful spirit. From our conversations, I believe your spiritiual well-being has been, in a sense, culminating. It seems to me that, despite much emotional adversity, your recent spiritual/psychological/emotional self has been evolving for the better. I believe this is for a reason bro. I believe your ready for this fight.

HAVE YOU TOLD YOUR DOCTOR IT IS FROM STEROIDS???? Maybe you do not need a liver transplant but some sort of other liver treatment. Since you know that steroids are causing this in you, what if you stop for good??? When I was in college, I took a lot of Anadrol and my temples receded. You would think I would be bald now (10 years later). But I knew that it was Anadrol so I quit taking roids and it hasn't really changed much.

I'm just floored by all of your replys/concern... thanks guys, it means the world to me.

As for Hep... he showed me 3 values. 2 were bottomed right-out(Protein and Albumen), the 3rd one was in normal range(it said 50). He said if I had Hep, that(normal)value would be in the thousands. So he concluded I did NOT have viral Hepatitis. I'll try and get the lab report and post the numbers... I know it sounds like I speaking out of my ass right now. I'd like to have the numbers staring me in face again so I know what I'm talking about.

Ulter- That evening I ordered 3 bottles of r-ALA from you. Have you had any trouble getting that stuff into Canada? I'd like to get some Tyler's Liver Detox, but there's a component in there that's restricted here.

injury board?

my bests to you scotty. I hope everything works out fine. YOU WILL BEAT THIS THING!!

Now from what you've all just read, do you think it is appropriate to have an "injury board" of sorts? people can post injuries theyve got from training, negative drug interactions, or even various sides from drugs we might be taking. this may prevent people from getting injuries or other complications in scotty's case - especially lurkers who are too shy to ask questions on the board. WE HAVE TO BE INFORMED.

good luck scotty - my prayers!

its really impressive to see a bunch of guys come to the aid of a brother that needs to hear positive things. This is a very worthwile site to be a memeber of and everyone on this board always seems to be willing to give advice and or help out when needed... not what most people would say about guys that like to lift heavy things and eat 5 cans of tuna a day...

prayers are with you bro...

Noone ever wants to believe that when something like this happens that it was from the steroids. We know we are taking a risk, every cycle I've done my liver values are elevated some.. Maybe he was succestible to this type of thing as we are all going to react differently. I wish you the best of luck Scotty. That really sux.

Well I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. You sound like a strong bro, keep your head up! I'd definetly get a second opinion even if you are comfortable with your current doc. As for the parents, tell them the truth! They may be mad at first, but they'll get over it! I wish you nothing but the best!! Stay strong!

On a side note, Ulter, you are a real stand-up guy. Glad to have you as a bro on the board!

I feel for you bro.... I really do.

I am not new to this game and also have had liver levels OFF the charts.and I will tell you guys something VERY important.. LEAVE THE ORALS ALONE!...You don't need them to grow....They do give a very fast acting effect, but just shoot some test and enjoy ythe ride......Take this for what it is worth, but I was also like many reading that thought I was young and bulletproof and made many mistakes that I REGRET.........

The liver is a very vital organ....DON"T fuck it up!

I've always been stubborn... so long as I can get out of bed, I'll never give up a work out. I'm still feeling quite powerful in the gym actually... I haven't lost much strength/size since I called off my cycle 6 weeks ago.

My Doctor prescribed Lasix for the edema. He said it would help ease the "symptoms" of my present condition. I'm finding that its making me feel fluish. I might just stop taking it. Anyone have any advice regarding Lasix. I'm taking 40mg in the morning with breakfast.

This too... every morning for the past week, I've woken up with yellow puffy bags under my eyes. They go away in a few hours, but are back the next morning. Definitely a marked departure from the norm though, I've never looked like that before.

No abdominal swelling to speak of yet.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The doc tells you that you're dying. I hope I'm that strong when I'm told that I'm dying. BTW, I can't help but notice the irony in your signature. Get better.

I would ask your doc about taking r-ala and tyler detox tabs. If doesn't know then ask Ulters doc www.newhopemed.com

For those that are reading this let it be known that it was the winstrol that did it.....100mg per day for 11 weeks is a lot. Never use these 17aa roids for more than 6 weeks at moderate dose and 4 weeks at a heavier dose like 100 of winny.

One really doesn't need 17aa orals at all as there are plenty of great non 17aa injectables.

I hope all will work out well for you bro and I will pray for you.

RG:(

Yep that's definetly awful but maybe it won't be as bad when the Dr finds out more. Like realgains said, take notes and don't over do it on the 17aa's. Goodluck bro~

This certainly is terrible news. :(

One question bro': What anti-oxidants (and how much) were you taking during this cycle?

Please post updates bro' as we are all pulling for you.

Ask your doctor about Aldactone. Gets rid of water better than Lasix w/o as much sides. But I have no idea if it effects the liver so bring it up with your doc.

I'm saying a prayer for ya bro.

Wow this post has definatly made me stop and think about the severe danger that I we are all risking. Scotty very sorry to hear this hope the doc was wrong and you pull through this. I somewhat had a scare like this my doc calls me a week after blood test, and says i want you to go for a sonogram to check you liver it shows high numbers. Luckly everything turned out alright hopefully everything will turn out ok for you. Just a reminder make sure you tell your doc what you have taken.

Goodluck!

I'm hoping that your doctor is off base with the state of your liver, It is good news that you do not have hepatitis, because as others have stated your liver can repair itself better than any other organ. As for aldactone it does not work anywhere near as well as lasix, also aldactone has anti androgen properities and in itself can lead to bitch tits after prolonged use by males. As I stated (somewhat poorly) in my previous post your condition sounds as if it may have cardiac coplications as oppossed to liver. But I am not an M.D> nor do I pretend to be. I do have experience with lasix however. The flushing that you are now experiencing will stop after a short peroid of time. Lasix is very K depleteing so eat more baked patatos, bananas, OJ and other foods rich in potassium. I've foun out through trail and error that the morning is the worst time for me to take lasix, as it tends to weaken me for my workout. I take 40mg daily at three in the afternoon, and I've found out that this works best for me, no sides. I even tan several times a week without burning.

I hate to get off subject but let me tell you a little story, a little over two years ago I contracted a viral infection in my heart. After going into complete cardiac arrest, respiritory failure and kidney failure. I was on life support for a week. After I recovered somewhat my doctors told me that I would have to go to the University of Michigan Medical Center for a heart transplant in six months. I was also told never to workout ever agin. Three weeks later I hit the gym walking 6 min intervals on the threadmill. That was then, today I can do 90 mins at 4.3mph without breathing hard. Yesterday I hit 20 reps with the 100lb dumbells in the seated military press. My doctors admitt that they were wrong in my case, and my heart should last a good 30 years or more. I am a subject in a case study, because my heart is healing and getting stronger each day. My doctors also allow me to use moderate amounts of anabolics, in fact my main doctor believes that it was intermittent steroid use throughout my lifetime that saved my life. The point that I'm trying to get across here is never give in to any illness, your will power is a powerful tool in the road to recovery. If you have any questions on anything or if I can help you in anyway please feel free to e-mail me.:)

Nice inspiring story LiftsIron

Scotty..........God bless you and more importantly, your doctors! Time and time again doc's prove their incompetency. Get a second opinion, hell......get a third! (Long story but I can personally attest to this need for many different opinions!)

Start the ala and the Tylers IMMEDIATELY along with a ton of water! I totally agree with RG! Please tell me you stopped the AS too I hope! (Some people are soooooooo stuborn).

God Bless you bro........please try to stay positive and get educated immediatly on your disorder! It can only help!
Hang in there and please keep us posted!

Well said! I have sworn off orals.

Thanks(again)to everyone for their kind words, I'm really touched by everyones concern... really proud to be a member of such an amazing group.

A lot of you asked me some questions... I'll try and answer all of'em now.

I'm 32 years old. I started AAS when I was 28, I've done 5 cycles in the past 4 years. I was in week 11 of my last cycle when I developed the peripheral edema in my ankles and feet. I know for a fact it was the Winstrol that pushed my Liver over the edge... I had started it 3 weeks earlier(in week 9). I had originally planned on only doing 50mg/ED, but the results of Winstrol were so immediate and so remarkable that I bumped it up to 100mg/ED. I was doing 1 50mg tab and 1cc of Winstrol suspension IM. Fuck!!! That stuff made me strong... and HARD!

I'm clean now... I binned the cycle 6 weeks ago(in week 11 after I developed the edema). God only knows why I had the good judgement to call it off when I did. As bad as the situation I'm presently in is, things would have been infinitely worse had I continued with what I was planning to do during the last part of my cycle. I would have started Tren in week 12 and run Tren/Winstrol/Prop for 6 more weeks. It would have been my first experience with Tren. I'm just guessing, but I think I would have died.

As far as my alcohol consumption goes... I get drunk, at the most, 6 times/year.

12 years ago(when I was 20 years old), I did 4 months of Accutane(80mg/ED). It would be mere speculation, but I think Accutane might have something to do with whats happening now.

Genetic predisposition: The only thing to speak of here is Cancer. Several of my Dads family members have died in their 50's from various forms of Cancer.

Since I started AAS, I've ALWAYS(whether "on" or "off")taken supplements to combat the sides of steroids. I'm an EFA freak... I take Hempseed Oil by the tablespoon, Borage Oil caps, and EPO caps every day. Anti-oxidants... 800IU of Vitamin E and 1000mg of Vitamin C every day. I have used ALA periodically, I regret not being more fanatical in that respect.

Now is the time when all of your intense physical training will pay off. For years, you have deliberately challenged yourself, you have strengthened your spirit by strengthening your body. Lifters are tough guys. We can handle this sort of adversity. That is what you need to remember. Think of how strong of a person the iron has made you. I don't mean physically, I mean mentally. YOU WILL BEAT THIS. IT IS NOT STRONGER THAN YOU. May God be with you.

Good Luck Scotty-Two-Hotty

I am the same age as you, and have been juicing for the same amount of time.

I had my liver values checked twice...after reading your post, had them checked again will get the results next week...

I have used anadrol and test, up to 750mg test a week and 100mg anadrol a day..got swollen ankles off of that..
And I got drunk, and I mean totally pissed, 1-2 times a week for the last 5 years, though in the last year I have reduced the volume of alcohol I drink.
Lord knows I ought to have liver cancer...

Frightening news. Hope everything works out in the end.
Good luck!
