I got called "skinny" yesterday...

I was at the pool and saw another guy from the gym. We shot the shit for a while, and as I was leaving, the dude (who's a bit of a pudwacker but basically a cool guy) said, "Man, don't lose anymore weight. You're getting skinny." I weigh a little over 250 right now. Closer to 260 in street clothes and sandals. I guess it's because he saw me at 296 back in late winter. LOL. I suppose I should take it as a compliment, in a way. :)

lol

Typical...

people associate fit and cut as being skinny....

yeah...YEAH, by God!!!:D

A couple of years ago, a comment like that would have messed with me, no matter who it came from. Not much anymore though.

I hear you, about 2 months ago I dropped to 235, people were asking me "if I was losing weight", so I said "f this", back up to 245 by just adding 5 glasses of 2% milk a day. peace

Just like they associate "big" with height. I don't know how many people have been describing someone to me and been like, "Yeah, this guy was BIG! Bigger than you even." And I say, "Really, so he was a pretty muscular dude, huh?", picturing some bodybuilder or football player. And they're like, "Oh, not really. He's about 6'6" though!"

yep.....I dropped to 198 for this last show.....I was lean but looked healthy and athletic - I got called skinny twice - each time it was by someone who weighed about a buck fifty....it's always the little fuckers who mouth off like that...I think they like living vicariously though big guys - hehehehe

Yeah, I hear you on that one. I dieted down really hard in the spring of 2000. It was too fast, really- I went from 268 to 241 in four weeks. I kept a lot of the muscle, actually (I wish I had some way of scanning my pics and posting them- there's so many I'd like to show you guys). Well, I went out to see my parents and my dad actually had the nerve to call me "emaciated". This coming from a 120 pound man, mind you. He had no idea how much sweat and all-out effort it had taken to cut like that. And 240, emaciated? WTF?

Bigguns, you skeptical bastyd-

I way in the lower 250's- usually around 252, lately. Wearing a shirt, jeans or kakhi shorts, and Doc Martin sandals, It puts me close to 260. I didn't say "260 on the money.", because I don't even remember for sure and don't really give a rat's patootie.:D It's somewhere in there.

Why is it, that its always the fat pudgey bitches that call fit lean people skinny.

Part of it's just a matter of being clueless and unthinking. Many women are totally insensitive when talking to a man about his build, looks, etc. A man will have a moment of anxiety when confronted with the same situation, trying to pick the right word because he knows he's treading in dangerous territory. As a man, I don't want, nor do I expect to be coddled, but sometimes I think women should show a little more tact. Particularly when addressing a guy who obviously works out and cares about his appearance. I've come very close on more than one occasion to popping off with a remark about a chick's ass when she says something rude or unthinking about my build.

Then you have more restraint then me because I don't hesitate to tell some behemonth that he or she needs to look at their own blubbery mass before commenting on ANYBODY.
Then again I'm kinda of a asshole when someone pushes me.

LOL. Don't get me wrong- I have no mercy if pushed too far. I remember a couple of years ago when we were trying to get everyone out of the club at closing time. This chick and her friend were the last ones to go and she mouthed off some shit to me- I can't remember what, but I don't think it was about my looks- I told her to get her cellulite-ridden ass out the door and drop a couple pounds before she wore those white shorts again. That was kinds mean, I guess, but it was a shitty club that kind of rubbed off on me after working there for a year and a half. Anyway, she shut her mouth and left.

wow!!!!

19 in 3 weeks - wowowowow!!1

I have ALWAYS contended that you get a HUGE anabolic rebound after a prolonged period of dieting....nice.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. Being called skinny when you weigh well over 200 lbs isn't an insult. It means people think you are lean.

Now, when I get called skinny, I know its cause I really am Skinnny. WHich sucks.
