I got arrested last night.

Metro police raided a weekly game i was playing in ,about thirty players were there last night and three dealers.
About fifteen of them busted in and yelled the classic line "nobody move! put your hands on your head!"
They booked us all in and i was the very last mfer to get booked,fuckin waited for two hours.

WTF? Its only a $220.00 tourny we play in.We use chips and the pot money is put away until after the tourny.All the other bullshit thats going on in Nashville and they bust a little poker game.

They seized all the tables ,chips and about 7,000 in cash.
They video taped it and i hope its on the news tonight,that would be funny to see myself on TV.

that sucks, Tenn doesn't have rules regarding low stakes private games? Think they would look away on shit like that.

Its just a misdemeanor.Prolly a small fine and probation.

I'm not worried about that part of it,it was a damn good game almost like a part time job.......lol

This is the third game in the last five or six months they have busted. One other place they busted and had on the news showed alot of cash on the table and they reported finding two guns.Our game wasn't like that at all. Its held at a VFW,no guns or any of that bullshit.It was a very friendly game.

They came in before the blinds even moved up only twenty minutes into the game. It would have been a lucky night to lose with the classic KK vrs AA in the first five minutes.

dang theres a lottery and everything now
i do knwo tho theres a place called Sammy O's that got busted for having slot machines and stuff but it was years ago

Shit, no wonder the cops came, that's one tough-looking dangerous bunch you got there. Some look like they may even have pocket protectors, and calculators too.

The fuckin pigs in that pic are trying to act hard.. Man.. how hard do you gotta be to bust up a poker game at the VFW.. seriously.. they could of sent two cops.. they must not of had a lot of action this past month in the news.. maybe needed to look like they were doing something..

TN sucks...and so do TN cops...you want a real poker game come to southern cali ;) - me and some friends meet up every week (meet with 1 group one week and the other the next week) so i always have a weekly game...and i make sure they're all not as experienced so i almost always win ;) - so far ive LOST in our total games about 40$ (10$ buy in) and won about 300$ :verygood: - my minimum wage job pays damn about 300 a month...lol...should just become a pro poker player :verygood:

yeah i'm only 17 :verygood: - but only been playing about a month with friends...so itll add up soon...will try to find more people into hold 'em and make more poker nights..could always use extra cash ;) - i COULD play for higher and probably win but i don't want to take the risk...i keep it REALLY cheap...10$ buy in and winner gets like 70$ +10 (his original buy in) (2nd place gets money back) n 3rd-9 lose money

keeping buy ins very low i can play in alot of games...and i can hold my own trust me deterass.. :verygood: let me know if u have UB.net and we can join a game :evil:
 
problem is -- one guy is allowed to run it -- then others see the profitability and start running it too...

well you can see how big the problem can spiral. And then cops have to spend MORE TIME and cost shutting down 50 poker games, rather than one. And deal with the violence and gang/mob influence that results from it too.

Think bigger picture orb.

I agree,its against the law and we got caught,no big deal but i just hate it because it was a great game with delears ,a pit boss and set up like a casino.

Now that they have taken care of all the drug dealers, rapists, muggers, robbers, car jackers, etc, etc, etc, they have time on their hands to come after poker players, strippers, hookers and johns.
Yes, that is the best use of the taxes you pay!!!

To successfully fight problems - you nip it in the bud. Not when it spirals out of control.

People are selfish and greedy. If they see some people making money -- they want in on it too. Insert the justification philosophy of "If he can do it, so can i!" here.

Yo Deterass. I was telling a few people about this at my card game the other night, and some dude told me he was at a game that got robbed. They had guns and shit. Over $10,000 in prize money. So it can be a threat in a way.

Same same shit happened in another game that i played in a few times.Three black dudes busted in with shotguns and robbed a bunch of guys i play with on a regular basis.I was told their take was around 20k.

I wish you could play with some of the older rich fish in a few of my games.Its just like that candy baby thang. :)
