I fucked up my ankle this morning

started my cardio this morning, and as I stepped off the treadmill I rolled my ankle pretty damn bad. All my weight (230lbs) came down on my right ankle and I heard two loud pops. I immediatly jumped right back up(with the help of the sudden rush of adrenaline), didn't want to look like a complete asshole holding my ankle on the ground, and limped off to my truck. When I got home I iced it pretty well....I have a lot of swelling on the outside of the ankle, looks like a raquet ball is under the skin. I can still walk/limp on it, but this couldn't have happened at a worse time....I'm 4 weeks into my cycle.

This sucks :(
 
When lying around the house bro, try to keep it elevated & iced. Sorry to hear about that. You should be ok in like a week though if it is only a sprain.
 
Yeah man, it hurts like a bitch. I can't believe I did that. I've been ice'ing it off and on since I got home.
 
sucks bro. hope u heal fast. i had to delay my cycle to probly feb or late janurary because of a fractured hip. (hip flexor tore, ripped piece off). Good luck on a fast recovery
 
JG!- Roidog is right. Elevate the fuck out of your ankle as much as possible, and ice it about 20 min/hour. Add a compression wrap too, to help inhibit swelling. Hopefully it's just a sprain, but it's possible to fracture a bone just how you went down. If it's not starting to get better in a couple days, get it x-rayed. And don't walk on it if it hurts - use crutches. Heal well.
 
I sprained my ankle during my preseason conditioning and I was out for a week. When I came back I got a high ankle sprain on the same one. It was so bad I had to get a cortisone/novacain injection just to be ready for the first practice. It took about a month and a half to heal while I was playing on it.:bawling:
My advise is to make sure its healed up before you start again.

Ankle sprains are a bitch!!!!:mad:
 
sorry bro about your mishap use the rice method which you probably allready know. rest ice compression elevation
 
any bruising? I cant tell from that pic. If you heard a pop, you probably sprained or ruptured a ligament. I doubt it is a fracture, but an xray wont hurt. An xray wont show a ligament sprain unless it tore off a piece of bone with it. That is called an avulsion fracture. Otherwise, you need an MRI and you need to wear an air cast or a hard cast variation (bivalved or other) to keep the ankle straight while it heals. If it isnt straight, it will heal crooked and you wont have normal function of your ankle for the rest of your life.

No, there isn't any bruising. The ankle just feels incredibly stiff...and feels more painful then last night.
 
I feel for you bro! I twisted my ankle last night in a flag football game (intramural sports at my college). I jumped up to catch a pass and came down on 1 foot rolling my ankle outward. Sore as hell this morning, had to miss my 1st class. Just started clen this week, so I am lucky that I am not on a real expensive cycle. Not for another 3 weeks, anyway.

Bout 2 years ago I rolled this ankle snowboarding...when I got off the lift (with my right foot straped in the binding) I slipped and really screwed my ankle up them. Heard a couple loud pops then too. Ended up being just a severe sprain. I just seem to injure this ankle often for some reason....same kind of injurey too.
