I did rack pulls for the first time...

...on Friday.

Pins were set at the lowest, which was approximately 2" below my knees.

135x6
185x3
225x3
265x3
295x3
315x1
325x0

the rest of my workout was:

barbell rows

barx10
95x6
115x6
135x6
145x4

lat pulldowns

120x6
130x6
140x4

EZ bar curls

25/side x 6
27.5/side x 4

Seated dumbell curls

20s x 6

It's frustrating having to deal with little (and sometimes large) setbacks. Some are easier to prevent than others. I didn't eat hardly any solid food for 3-4 days last week, and lost ~10 lbs (related to a hopsital procedure).

I'm on the verge of breaking new ground, strength-wise, and it's about fucking time...but these 1-2 weeks delays annoy the hell out of me (not to mention the longer setbacks of my own making.

 :D

I like rack pulls a lot... if I am wearing a belt.

Otherwise, I feel like I am putting my back in a vulnerable position.

Howd you like the rack pulls JackAngel? I love them. They really helped me with breaking new ground on the deads. Just hit 500 off the floor a few days ago. Youll see your rack pulls increase really fast, and with each increase thats more you can pull off the floor. Each little 5-10lbs increase adds up to be huge over the course of a few months or a year. Hope to hear more progress from you on the rack pulls and deads!

I should add: The converse shoes (chuck taylors) made a huge difference in my pulls and cant recomend them enough. They are cheap and very well worth it. The flat sole of the shoe along with being low to the ground is a huge advantage, and also keeps you from falling forward as with running shoes that are elevated in the heel. Hope that helps!

I gotta get some old school Chucks, I see all these training pics that people post and a good majority of strongmen and powerlifter are wearing them. I never put two and two together why though, and now I realize its for the flat soles. Time to trash the Air Jordan Trainers.
