Beast, I remembered how you pysche yourself up my visualizing different things, so I was grunting, growling, and shaking my power rack like a maniac before I lifted it. It really helps!

It makes a huge difference!! I busted my knuckle once punching the power rack. It swelled up like a golf ball. haha So much adrenaline flowing you could kill someone without even trying. Got to love deadlfts!

Um I think he meant 405 as a new goal.. not his next attempt.

But if you interpreted him right, I agree with you.

Oh I think he meant that too, I basically was saying that he shouldn't add weight at all right now. Maybe drop 30 lbs (or whatever) and see what his form looks like then.

That's dangerous thinking. If I say I'm maxing out my deadlift, I mean I'm maxing out my deadlift with good form, not "I'm going to lift the maximum amount of weight off the ground that I can in any fashion, whether my spine needs to be fused afterwards or not."
 
Form is important... but at the same time, I don't think I've ever seen anybody have PERFECT form on an absolute max deadlift.

I think it's important to train so that if you do lose your form, you are less likely to get injured.

ie I do a lot of work with a rounded lower back.. so if my lower back rounds on a deadlift, it is still strong.

Strength in multiple planes of motion is important.

you will NOT be happy with 370, that's your future warmup weight you're going to be pulling lol

good luck dude I think you got it in you. And I agree that you're not going to have textbook form on a true 1rm
