I am so discouraged.

I have been out of the gym for a few months due to injury. Then I started back after I moved to NY but had to stop again for a few months due to some things going on. Now I am back full time, but it feels like I am starting completely over. My 2nd week back and today I did 5 sets of 5 reps with my body weight (135lb) on flat bench, and 2 sets of 10 reps with 45's on incline DB press. I feel like such a weakling. And I know everyone has to start somewhere but it is still embarrassing. O.K., I am done whining.

Time to stop whining and start lifting, weight is all relative to myself and progress is the true measure of success in my book....;)

You can go nowhere but UP!!!!

My first two years stopped and started again and again.

injurys (not weights related, dislocations, broken bones) breakups, breakdowns, relocations, work-school-work (with 3-5 hours sleep max)....

I lost the first couple of years of training, and i am in my third year now....things couldnt be better.

i have trained constantly, eaten everything in site.

I have made more gains this year than i could dream.

focus, train hard and dont let the past bother you....look towards the future

everything feels heavy after a layoff - it takes a week or two of workouts before your golgi tendon backs off the alarm signal.

_Quit yer fucking bitching! Suck it up, and add some weight next time.

That's how real champions are made.

It's happened to al of us, the dedicated ones are the people that use it as motivation and come back better than they were before

I've been working out religiously for five years now, sometimes it pays to take a little bit of time off. I'm surprised you did not go back stronger.

It's a new day and I am hype to go to the gym tonight. I'm glad for that. I also started Glutamine and found the stuff works well for me. There is nothing worse than yawning in the gym. To answer BIGSATAN13's question, I crashed my dirtbike and sprained my wrist. I had to wear a cast for a month. My wrist still feels really weak when I lift. I have been doing exercizes to hope to strengthen it, without reinjuring it. Had to sell the dirtbike though, theres no dirt in Brooklyn. Also to those who read most of my posts and know about my loss of appetite. I want to inform you that my appetite has exploded this past week. I don't know if it is me working out again or what but I am thankful. I eat before I go to the gym and hit McDonalds as soon as I leave the gym. I gained 5lbs since last week naturally. I will be posting my progress so you can see if interested. Hope to start a cycle in about 2 months.

why dont you post some of your max lifts before the injury
as well as what you can do now?

Once you have IT...... IT'S not hard to get back:)

Flat bench max 265lbs one rep. Incline DB press 100's three reps. Flat DB press 110's three reps. This info is in my "How much can you bench" thread. Also I went to armwrestling practice last night. Didn't train too hard for fear of reinjuring my wrist. Today my wrist is very sore but there is no sweeling and very little stiffness. So I am taking this as good news. I am going to remain training my wrist lightly till it regains strength. It was really weak last night.

wrists injuries are annoying, make sure you warm it up, maybe massage some analgesic stuff into it.

You show the determination of a successful athlete bro. I can tell that you'll be fucking shit up in the gym hard again soon. Pretty soon you'll be posting about your new PR's.

You're next thread will be about hitting 3 plates:dance2: and how your pissed because the db's aren't heavy enough at your gym

I have two goals in life and you mentioned them both. First to own three plates. Second to tell the owner of my gym he/she needs to order heavier dumbells. Hope atleast one of these is possible.
