I am proposing for Valentines Day!

I have been dating a guy in Florida, and we are crazy about each other. He says that he really wants me to ask him to marry him and then he will completely go crazy spoiling me. I asked him why he wants me to ask, and he said that he wants to know that I am absolutely certain that I want to marry him and does not want me to feel any pressure that would result if he were to ask me first.

He is a multi-millionaire, and he says that in the past, money has always been an obstacle to his finding true love. Women fall in love with the security and the money. I really empathize with him in that regard. It would suck to be falling in love with someone and to find out that they are using you.

Anyway, he has a big saltwater aquarium, and I bought this treasure chest aquarium decoration, and I am attaching the ring on the inside of the little treasure chest. When he notices it in the tank, I am going to act dumb about it and ask if maybe one of his children got it for him. Then I am going to say that I think it would look better on the other side of the tank and have him fish it out to rearrange it. Then, I will say that he better check inside to see if there is treasure in there. Then, I am going to tell him what a treasure he is in my life and that I would be honored if he would make me his wife.

What do you guys think? Good idea or silly? I never thought I would ask a guy to marry me...lol. I've never even asked a guy on a date...lol.

I understand 100% about your situation all around. Very difficult to date men who have achieved such a high level of success. The only thing I can equate their situation to is a woman never knowing if a man loves her for who she is on the inside or if he SAYS he loves her for how she looks on the outside. It is amazing what lengths men will go to to pursue a woman that they perceive to be pretty but when she yields, they *all of the sudden* dont know what they want.

We are goijng to be in Sarasota, but I would like to get married in the Keys or in Hawaii. The keys would be cool, because we could take his boat down to the keys and I could decorate it with tulle and flowers on the rails and a just married sign on the back. =-)

Thanks beachgirl. I have been married oce before, so I had that down on one knee thing already. As an update, he did give me an engagement ring and a pair of diamond earrings on march 4th, which was my birthday. =-) We are getting married in the keys. We are going to drive the yacht down there and get married on the beach. I am scattering my mother's ashes above that underwater statue of Jesus that is in Pennekamp park down there. Lots of divers will know where I'm talking about. It is a pretty famous diving place.

Okay, off topic, but here is a funny. My fiance was teaching me how to dive yesterday, so we take the little motor boat out and beach it at De Soto park. He has me diving very close to the boat, so I was only in about 3 feet of water to get used to all the equipment. He didn't want to get in the water because it was too cold for his florida blood. I looked really funny diving in 3 feet of water and people kept coming up and saying, "what in the world is she doing?" Well, I surfaced just as one lady was asking just that. My response was, "I'm looking for my contact lens. Wanna help?" My fiance almost fell out of the boat laughing. Then I popped out of the water and scared the hell out of this cute boxer. That dog looked so shocked! He couldn't figure out whether to run or come in the water and bite me. I took off my mask and said, "It's okay, Buddy." It just so happens the dog's name was Buddy, so he calmed right down. Anyway, I had a good time swimming around in 3 feet of water...lol.
