I am looking for a begginers website for weightlifting.

I am looking for a site devoted to newbies of the sport. I need basic info such as, what terms mean, how to do the excersies, exercise routines, proper diets, ect. The simpler the website the better until I figure out what I am doing.

I also would like to know if a piece of equipment called the "powerrack" looks kind of like a cage? Or am I looking at something else. Thanks for any info.

A power rack is a cage. and im guessing your guessing its the same thing. you can set it up to "spot" you. you can set it up to help certain parts of your lifts( like if you have a problem with the last 4 inchs of a deadlift you can set the pins to that high and work reps from that level.)
you can do all different things......but i guess spotting is the major thing.

are you talking about the sport of weight lifting (clean and jerk and snatch)?

Or weightlifting as in bodybuilding? (bicep curls sit ups and bench press(which seems to be the only three exercises used where i live))?

.

I was looking into fitness of weightlifting, not the olympic sport.

Thanks for the website url, but I am looking for something even more basic then that. Mabey pictures of what the exercise looks like when being done. And that diet on the webpage looks crazy. I dont want to put on a tonne of weight, just a little bit.

This may help. This site will create a workout for you based on your goals. It also provides detailed explanations and even video feeds of how each excercise is done. It's not a free site, but I think it's only like $15 for a 12-week program. I think it's an exceptional site, especially for beginners.

Do you spend a lot of time changing your weights around? It seems like it slows me down when I have to change weights all the time, or do you kind of work that into your break?
