hypohydrosis....

Thanks Good info, I still dont understand how it would help with sweating, but ill try anything at this point. Mg is pretty amazing stuff, i just researched it, it plays a vital role in alot of body functions.

Well a week or so later, havent noticed much of a change???, Ive been taking at least 500mgs of Mg per day.

Anything else???

Mg is not a drug...it takes about a month to get into your system. In the meantime look at other aspects of your life...hows your caffiene intake? alcohol? nicotine? Personally, i cant handle much caffeine, it really gets me sweating

I diddent know it takes that long to get into your system! ok good so then there is still hope.

I do know that Mg is not a drug....
I am however a light smoker & drinker..

..since I just posted something in another thread about hyperhydrosis so in this same line (no I'm not a spokesman for sweat :) There's a prescription drug called drysol; it's aluminum cloride but has a stronger percentage that over the counter anti-perspirants

The thing that works for me is glycopyrulate. I buy it in a topical solution (reminds me of 'stridex pads') that I get from a candadian pharmacy. It's over the counter up there. wipe it on EOD or ED and voila, you sweat like a normal person, not like a sprinkler.

i'm very much the same... always always always sweating under the arms... i have been like this for a long time (10 years or so)...

i never tried drysol, i believe it is prescription pitstick, but i have tried a similar product called certain dry, and let me tell you, this shit worked wonders for me... i aplied it every night before going to bed and within a week i was no longer sweating under my arms... i was still sweating, it just switched to other body parts.. you still need to get rid of the body heat so you will still function as you were but you will be able to raise your arms without embarrassment.

give it a try, i think you will be very happy with the results. i got mine at the local pharmacy (london drugs)...

remember certain dry is non-prescription, drysol is prescription.

hope this helps.

i also noticed a long time ago that while taking omega 3-6-9's i didnt sweat nearly as much... if you search threads by an old user named "martha stewart" he/she gave me a fairly complex answer as to why that occurred.

cheers.

drysol changed my life..I would sweat so much under my arms, I would have to change my shirts 2x per day..I was wet all the time. I tried drysol. it burned my pits like crazy the first couple of time I couldn't sleep. but, the next day..NO SWEAT! I don't get that burning sensation now when I apply it ( i only need to apply it once per month now)..it's great. ( no I'm not a spokes person...just a sweaty pig)

I agree with the not being able to sleep the first few times and it sucks. I even applied it to my groin area b/c the excess sweat was causing a rash from jogging or walking. Since I used that stuff the sweat problems are not 1/2 as bad. Be careful not to put too much on though, I made that mistake, and could not go to sleep w/o taking a shower and getting some of it off.

First of all, what you are speaking of with your excess sweating is hyperhidrosis, not hypohidrosis.

Go to your local pharmacy and get a bottle of Certain Dri. It's a highly concentrated aluminum solution that you use only once every three days. Lots of people get relief from it, and I know quite a few people who use it. It stings, so don't use it immediately after shaving your underarms (if you shave).

If that doesn't work, and if the sweating bothers you, you can try botox injections or you can have a cardiothoracic surgeon perform endoscopic surgery to cut the Kuntz nerves that are branches of the sympathetic chain. There is controversy whether these nerves actually exist in humans. Surgeons claim they cut it, and the people who have had this surgery for facial blushing also report no sweating (at all) after the surgery. However, you usually compensate by increased sweating elsewhere (like your lower back).

You should have your thyroid levels checked to make sure you aren't hyperthyroid, particularly if you have used AAS in the past.
