Hypoglycemia and CDK?!

lodid

New member
When I was younger, I was diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. The doctor told me if I did not watch my diet, I would be prone to ‘flipping’ into diabetes.

As of now, I eat a healthy diet (45P, 30F, 25C)

Does anyone know if a CDK diet could cause this ‘flip’ for someone with Hypoglycemia?

And, does anyone know what effect a no carb diet would have on a person with Hypoglycemia?

Thanks

Hey, I am hypoglycemic too and have been since my late teens. If you are like me then if you eat even a small amount of bad carbs - then don't eat for a few hours - you will get really shaky, weak, and panic stricken sometimes. The best diet for you is going to be a very low carb diet. You will feel so much better.

Also, don't worry too much about people who will tell you that you won't grow without carbs. They may not grow without carbs, but they are not hypoglycemic. I grow just fine with low carbs. I am doing a CKD right now, but the jury is still out on weather it is any better than what I was doing before. If you do a CKD diet on your carb-up day be sure to use low GI carbs. Don't go eat boxes of cereal and shit.

Hope that helps ya. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply fl8meplz.

Keep me posted on the success of your CDK. I would be interested to try it if it works with you.

I have reactive hypoglycemia, and do basically NHE - which is cycling at 20-30 grams per day and then a carb load every 3rd & 4th evening.

I have been able to lose quite about 8% of body fat on this routine in the last couple of months (along with some other things), and have been happy and comfortable throughout, though I do better on only one carb load per week.

I started Atkins about 6 years ago and found it managed my hypoglycemia very, very well. At this point, the worse that ever happens is that I tend to get a bit groggier after my carb load (and use it to catch up on my sleep, anyway).

Low-carb is really great for HG, and eating frequently helps as well.
