You don't need an encrypted server. You need OpenPGP/GnuPG and a Google account. Google doesn't report your IP address in mail you send through their web interface. I heard about that because it's been driving the antispammers crazy. If you want it prettier you can get a copy of Portable Thunderbird, put it on a memory stick, and toss on OpenPGP and the Enigmail plugin. It'll still work with Google but now you have to find a PC that will let you run apps off the thumb drive... or an open hotspot.

Point is that your mail needs to be encrypted before it leaves your machine and it needs to stay encrypted until it's all the way onto the other guy's machine. As long as that's the case, it doesn't matter if you're using freakin' Google mail to get it there... or Yahoo or Hotmail.

If either one of you -- you OR the guy on the other end -- are depending on Hush to hold your hand because you don't know how to use PGP, you're just jerking off.
