Humans are going to go extinct...in 2000 years

2Thick said:
Earth's magnetic field has been weakening. It seems to have lost 15% of its strength since 1670. At the present rate of decrease, it will reach zero in 2,000 years. Between the years 3500 and 4500, the magnetic field will not be sufficiently strong enough to ward off charged radiation from outer space.

I am gonna be quite old anyway .....:)

You are wrong about extinction of humans.

Earth may not be able to be habited by any living life, but humans will adapt.

When need arises they will build domes to protect from radiation.

They will set up colonies on other planets of the solar system.

Technology has reached futuristic proportion in the last 30 years. Imagine what will happen in 2000 years?

They will adapt.

The magnetic field may not be gone. It is all dependent upon the molten core, the spin rate (which is slowing down) the atmosphere, etc. All these interact to create a magnetic field that interacts with the surrounding radiation.

It is a dynamic effect and will be around a lot longer than 2000 years.

*insert motivational flag waving speach here so we can wrap this movie up in the final 15minutes nice and neat like*
